Mods to 2000 Explorer?...

I recently bought a 2000 4.0 v6 explorer and was trying to think of ways to give it a little more umph. My friend who works at the dealership suggested a K&N intake system, which sounds appealing, but i haven't talked to anyone with one so if any of you guys here could help me out i would greatly appreciate it. Also, i plan to add a new exhaust system, not sure on what kind though. Like i said, any advice on how to add some hp to my suv would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty new to all this.

k&n would be good and you should go with flowmaster exhuast.

I've heard other people recommending Dynomax exhausts.... What's the pros and cons of each??
