My dream car

If any of you here know me at all from other forums or something, then you probably already know what my dream car is.

If not, then the car i want more than any Ferrari, Lamborghini etc is a R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R (preferably the V-Spec II model) in any colour so long as the colour is an original.

But here are some of the things which will allow me to never get this car.

1. They are (well, seem to be) all used for racing of some sort (circuit, 400m etc).
2. There is not likely to be a single one in stock condition and if there is it probably won't be for sale.
3. I want a GT-R as close to the way it came out of the factory as possible...
4. I have no job.
5. I have no direction, so haven't a clue what sort of jobs to apply for.
6. I have a $17,000+ student loan to pay off...
7. I have nowhere to put it.

What other excuses can i come up with?
I honestly don't see me getting a GT-R and i think i'll be damn lucky if i even manage to get a Skyline like the one in my avatar.

The Skyline to the left is my Dad's '91 R32 GTS-4 and at the moment it's sitting out in the backyard. (Dad lives about 3-4 hours away)
We are doing a car swap - he took Mum's Mazda MS6 to try get the heater fixed, and we are going to try fix the 'missing' in the Skyline happens at motorway speeds when the engine has warmed up. (we aren't going to tell him that we are trying to fix it though.)

But despite that, i cannot drive it whenever i want and if i do actually drive it, Mum has to be in the car with me. Which is killing me in a way because i really love this car. :(

Anywho i've strayed off topic a bit so i'll just continue dreaming about Skylines. :( (i have been having lots of dreams in the last few months and quite a few have had Skylines in them - no joke)

VSpec II R32s are rare - but keep looking. They do exist. Hell - I was looking at an R32 N1 today - now that's rare!

I waited 7 years before I got my GTR (lots of hard work) and even then (when I could afford it) had to wait 6 months to find the exact one.

It is worth the wait.
Work hard - If you are at uni, you are old enough to drive and thus to get a job. What are you doing at uni? Can you get a part time gig somewhere? Taxis?

I worked at a fish shop and servo when I was at uni. Delivery jobs aren't bad. Store packers get paid a bit.

Hang in there - it'll happen :)

mustang-man, you're dad own's a r32 gts-4. that's not a bad car, how come you don't tell your dad to swap it with a rb26, you'll be closer to your dream car, but i know it can never compare to the real thing, just keep at it, you'll soon find yourself in one, i craved a skyline real bad until i got a job where i could get one and actually afford it, it's a thirsty monster though. i'll tell you that much.:tongue:

If you all don't mind me asking: how much did everyone's skyline cost? (for the ones that own one of course) I want a 2000 GTR R34, I've seen 95,000 bucks at motorex, but that's like a hell of a lot of money for the car.

If you're looking for a 2000 R34 GTR, then be prepared to pay $80K+ for it in the US... even in Japan and Australia, they are going for $50K+ USD... then you add shipping, taxes and the $26K to have Motorex legalize it and you're easily over $80K...

If you want to pay less, you can get a R32 GTR for low to mid $30Ks or if you want a R33 GTR, about $45K...

I figured it'd be that much even if I get in Japan, I was looking at getting a R32, badass skyline. And it's a whole lot cheaper too.
