My black Dx hatch is automatic. I kinda like it but hate that it is auto. At the same time I want a nice looking car. Should I build the auto up or just go all show? Are there any show 4th Gens that have an automatic tranny like me? I love to push the limits with things also so if I don't go for show should I see what I can do with the auto? I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP GUYS!:frown:

Oh yeah. Right now getting another car isn't an opinion. I want to keep this car for at least another year.

it would be cheaper just to get a std. or Si tranny then go through all the crap to make a auto worth anything. But yes there are things you can do to the auto to make it better. I dont know where this info is but there was a post a while back about it. Also the auto tranny is going to take 20 or more wheel robbing HP away. where the manual tranny will only take about 9 hp away. This is eng. hp to wheel hp.

Or you could just go through all the work and make it into a 5 speed

I had the same problem when I got my car.. But I didn't think I'd ever even consider having a fast car.. I wanted my car lowered, with big chrome rims. :icon16: Good thing I smartened up after being beaten by a friggin Sprint that was 5 speed. So, I dropped it and then next swapped it.. (ZC auto) www.geocities.com/jdmzc or something like that is the site for OLD pics of my car. It was alright when it was auto ZC, but 5 speed Sis with bolt ons would hang with me no problem. So I wanted to get an LSD, a 5 speed, and some cams and build my ZC but then I found out that the LSD and the cams would cost more than an entire B16 swap with a 5 speed tranny that already comes with it.. SO, I ditched the ZC and decided to go with B power. I'll never regret it. :bigthumb:

If I did convert to manual how much would it cost to swap out the auto tranny for a manual DX tranny? How much time would it take to do this swap? I have a friend that has done this before and he said he would charge me $50/per hour to do the swap. Could I do the swap my self in like one weekend if I have all the parts needed?
