sup, sorry this is gunna be about 5 questions but they are all related. k can anyone tell me how much boring out my b18 from 1.8 to 2.0L and sleeving it would cost me? and any suggestions on what pistons to get once the cylinders are bored? also once i get it bored do i have to get it ported and polished? if so how much does that cost? what else would i have to buy once the cylinders are bored? can somebody go into depth and tell me EVERYTHING i would have to get, sorry but i have spent the last 2 hours looking for info on boring and i couldnt find anything and its now almost 6 am .... oh and i am getting a skunk2 stage 2 camshaft in about a month, that should go nicely with the bored out cylinders, right.......?

I dont know about the cost, but port and polish has to do with the head, but will help with the cams, probably wanna get new valve springs too to hold the higher lift. and I know the b18b isnt exactly 1.8 lters so i doubt the B20 is exactly 2.0 liters, so just get it bored to 84mm then you can buy pistons intended for the B20. or you could bore it to 85mm and get the .40 over B20 pistons. what cr ratio depends on what your plans are, but wiht the stage 2 cams Im guessing no forced induction so Id say somewhere around 10:1.

well im going to go all out and by the nicest pistons i can get, not just b20 pistons. thx for the impute though, anybody else wanna put up their advice on what i should get? any inpute is good!:bigthumb:

well, I dont mean buy crv pistons, I meant then you can buy either pistons for the B20 or if you bore to 85mm then you can get pistons meant for the B20 but .40 over.

I got a B20 and got aftermarket pistons, I know JE does(what I got) and I think CP does too, probably other companys too

i found JE pistons for a B20 block, 12.5:1 compression..... lol but anyways i was wondering, after my engine is bored out and has the b20 JE pistons in it will a Skunk2 Stage 2 camshaft for a b18c1 still work with my engine ?

if you have a vtec head yes, otherwise you need to get cams for a LS. anyways, dont go 12.5:1 unless you plan on having a very good management system to tune it with.

what compression rate would you go with, i am gunna build this car up hella, im not skimping anything when it comes to my car. oh and i have a 97'GSR. by the way thx for all your help bro.

well, I know a kid who had a ITR and put in 12.5:1 along wiht toda cams and all the most expensive parts, but he just had the engine built/put in then sent to another shop to have the engine managem, ent installed and tuned and the car got stolen before he got to drive it so I dont know if it would have worked out, but that seems kinda high to run on pump gas, where you live is it 93 or what, i have heard some places in mid us have like 89 as their supreme.

anyways, 11.5:1 I guess. I was going with 11:1 pistons for my crvtec but since bought an accord so got a block and pistons with no use, want em?

you have the perfect starting point, with my pistons and block and your head/ecu/everything else you got a running crvtec. I am debating on keeping it and building it still since i can tell im addicted to this hobby for life and will eventually have a teg again.

but if I got a good offer i wouldnt turn it down:bigthumb:

so you have the 11:1 JE pistons in your b20 ? how many miles are on em and how much would you drop em for ? where you live maybe we could make a trade......:iceslolan

and where i live (Washington state) highest pump gas is 92 octane.

boring my engine out is going to cost me about 500-800 dollars depending on what maching shop I go to. the real big money for the project is spent on the pistons, I'm going to go for Ealgle connecting rods and JE Pistons. Expensive but worth every penny.

I live on whidbey island, in WA, by mukilteo if you never heard of it. and no miles on them, the longblock is in the garage and the pistons/rings/pins are still wrapped up in the box from JE.

and it cost me a little over 1500 for both, make offer.

Is the stuff for your engine? Or an integra engine?

wow im in Issaquah, the gayest part of washington :dogpile:. you prolly know Samammish, right ? your not that far away. but neways im just looking to buy (or trade) the pistons and rings, highest i would pay for pistons would be about $350 cause i have a friend that can get me stuff for a little off sale price, and i was gunna get the 12:1 JE pistons. but if you wanna work out a deal i could throw you some cash and some stuff thats worth a couple bills. just let me know cause im gunna have my money by next week. oh and did you mean you payed $1500 for the whole engine+pistons ....ect. or just the pistons/rings/pins ????

94tegRS
08-12-2003, 08:41 PM
engine/pistons/rings/pins

I paid about 550 or so for the pistons cuz to get 11:1 they were custom so it costed like 90 more I think.

and what do you got to trade?

DCNo07
08-12-2003, 09:27 PM
well the only reason i mentioned a trade is because i was hoping maybe you wanted 2 hyperlite wake boards, one used+ bindings other new without bindings. but if not i just gotta sell em pretty soon then i could have some money to get those pistons from you. anyone wanna buy 2 wakeboards ??:iceslolan

94tegRS
08-13-2003, 12:39 AM
no thanks about the wakeboards, got no boat or even a truck to tow it.

about the pistons, what can your friend get em for you for?

DCNo07
08-13-2003, 02:24 AM
i dont really know, my friend knows this guy at a shop that gets him parts for pretty cheap. i havent really talked to him, i have been trying to get a list of everything i need together first. i would guess 10% off.... cause some of my freinds have business licenses and they get parts for around 10% off. but thats just a guess.....

94tegRS
08-13-2003, 03:16 AM
cuz 10% off of 590 would still be 531 and then youd have to add shipping, I will come over to mulkiteo/lynwood area and meet you for 425

cuz that will put my REAL close to H&R race springs and KYB AGX's for my new accord.

DCNo07
08-14-2003, 08:32 AM
i gotta think about it cause i was planning on getting 12:1 c/r .... but you should e-mail me your number or post it so we can talk about this without having to wait a day for eachothers response... my e-mail is [email protected]
