Does anyone else have trouble heel-toeing with the stock pedals?

What should i do to ameliorate this problem, heh.

I'm not quite sure if I know what you mean by heel-toeing...

Its a downshifting technique for going into turns. The purpose is to downshift more smoothly and not jolt the drive train while slowing down turning hard. By downshifting smoother, your tires wont break loose/understeer.

When youre downshifting, you hit the throttle with your heel while braking with your toe to rev the engine up before popping the clutch. You gotta try to rev it right to where it will be when you pop it. Its a skill to master.

I'm sorry... but I've never touched on the gas while hitting the brake before to slow down... I simply let the clutch out more slowly if I need to be gentile.
Rightfully you should be slowing down before going into a turn... going into the turn you shouldn't be breaking or slowing down or speeding up (all of which can cause your tires to break free of the road surface)... midway through the turn and on the way out of the turn you accelerate.

At no point do I see the need for your foot to be on the brake and the gas at the same time unless you are accelerating on a steep incline from a stop...

I agree 100% stock pedals are very hard to heel-toe like its meant to be done. Dont bother with pedals covers, they will only come loose. The right way to do it would be metal pieces welded to the sides. When I "heel-toe" I use the left edge of my foot on the brake with the other part controlling gas. Basically my foot is in the middle of the 2 pedals.

Do not practice heel-toe downshifting with traffic stopped in front of you!

Any time you want to race dude... after I get my car up and running, just let me know... and we'll see who's the amateur

dude, you'll only be pressing both pedals at the same time when youre clutch is in. It's necessary if you want to drive at the limits of grip. What you described was pretty conservative.

I drive like an old lady most of the time, and when on the same road as me, I suggest everyone else do so :thefinger

My post was meant to be discouraging anyways...

I may have actually used this 'technique' before though while racing.... I just don't pay attention to what I'm doing... everything comes naturally...

Wait... I don't race... racing is bad :evillol:
