How many unfinished kits?

How many unfinished kits do you have? I mean unfinished and to-be-finished. Don't count models you've given up on or just have, not planning to build.
I've got 24, 3 of which are en route to my house (HLJ). I have to stop buying! But that one is so cool... and that one... oh look at that kit!
Anyway, what you got?
And forgive my huge spread, I really have no idea what ya'll have.

You know a person is from the south if they include the word ya'll in their post. I'm not making fun of you either, I use southern words in every sentence when I talk.
Anyway, I've got 25 kits total, 2 of which are being built right now.

I have about 160+ models not started just collecting dust. I've hadn't had anytime to start one. Hopefully when I start my practice and have everything sorted out I can start again.

I've been making car models for more than 15 years, so it has to be taken into account. Also, my kit tripled especially after I got a full time job, so if you have enough income, it quickly builds up.
Anyway, I have about 400 (excluding 150 Gundam kits) unfinished kits, and I just added two in July. And, I know I'm not the worst. ;)

Poll options don't go anywhere near high enough.
Last time round this question was asked I had 160 odd to be built, probably 170 odd now. Just had another arrive in the mail today, a 1/24th Jaguar D-Type by Fisher:biggrin:

around 75.
I keep the pace of growth under control, now that I focus on Mercedes-Benz, McLaren F-1 and local rally driver Robert Droogmans cars. Altough there are 100's of kits that I would want and who scream my name when I get past them, I just say no to them.

Make sure you post some photos of that D-Type! It's one of my favorite cars, and that Fisher kit is a nice one.

Have seen your article on the D-Type build, great stuff. I hope I can build mine to the same standard as yours. Just to get a bit OT did you add any underside detail? Is a bit bare OOB.

I didn't add any underside detail beyond what was in the kit. The bodywork wraps around so much, I don't know how much you could really add. I suppose you could always pirate some suspension parts from Revell of Germany's XKSS kit. If I built the kit again, I'd at least replace the cast-resin wheels and tires.

I'm probably in the 100 region also. I guess sometimes it's the fear that the manufacturer will discontinue it and I'll be kicking myself that I didn't buy one when I had the chance. I think the medical term is obsessive behaviour:silly:

ive got about 25 started at the moment, about 60 at the house unstarted. and about 150 in storage that are unbuilt, another 100+ that are started and about 150 completed. so whats that? i guess about 350+ started and unbuilt. i have been modelling for over 12 years and i buy about 3-4 a week so they build up. the ones i dont finish will be because im dead, my kids, when i have them, will probably get alot of these kits too so i guess at the age 30 ive completed about 175 so by the time im dead it should be about 500 completed. I hope!!!! which will leave close to a 1000 left for my kids if i continue to buy like i do now. good luck kids!

Well, a couple hundred unbuilt, a large number of those started and like 8 that I actually consider finished. More could be considered finished if you don't open the hood, lol! Even more could be considered finished if you don't look at the other side, lol! Yes, I'll admit it, I have a tendency to only get one side of a car foiled, and I seem to either build engines or cars - I have some nicely detailed engines, that I never got around to finishing the car for, lol. I have a couple of nice interiors, and no car to go with it. I have a number of nice bodies, with no engine or interior to go with them.
I've actually put myself on a kit buying "freeze" until I get some projects finished. I'll still buy resin and some diecast, but no more kits......unless something really catches my attention. I've also cut my modelling budget by about 75% - I'm only allowing myself to spend $15 a week total, so I might have to go without for a while if I want something expensive, lol. I have enough kits to last the rest of my life. If I couldn't buy another kit - I might actually get something finished!
I start most of them, so I'm not a collector (sealed boxes? Okay maybe 7!). If I screw up something, it gets out on the back burner. About 40 of them are parts kits, they had something I wanted for another kit, but are still complete otherwise. About the only ones I've ever tossed out were NASCAR models, good for parts, but I don't wanna build 'em!
I really need to get off my lazy ass and finish some models, eh?
Tim D.

9 unbuilt. Currently working on the Skyline and F40. A question for those with 100+ kits in waiting. How do you guys chose what you want your next project to be? I mean with 100+ choices, that's tough considering that some of the models might not be touched for years, and there might be like 10 you really want to build right away.

Hey, what models do you have? You're not too far from me, I might take a few off your hands.
Sorry about the personal matter. Hope you can work it out.

It isn't easy, I can assure you. I usually fool around with a couple before I settle on a kit to build.
