What do you have for a sound system? Amps? Is the connection from car to stereo through harnesses? Is it hard wired? Is your alternator and battery 100%?

i got a kenwood deck...2 amps...all the connection are thru wires no harness...im pretty sure the battery is fine but not sure about the alternator....also sometimes i hear popping noises from speakers n everything seems to shut down n all the needles on my gauge are jumpin' around but the car is still running...so i have no clue what it is

OK, if there's no harness and the connection between the stereo head unit and the factory wiring in the dash are "hardwired", are they connected correctly? If one speaker is grounding out that can cause the system to "clip" at higher volumes. If the amps are not wired correctly it could also cause the system to clip at higher volumes. Lets say that you have a loose ground. A ground is as important as the power, if it's loose, your current to the amp is not100% So check that. Make the ground short & the same wire guage as the power. You may also have a headunit thats requires more current then the factory wiring behind the dash can supply. You may have to run a direct, well equipped 12 v source for the radio. If your car has issues with it's electrical system running while the stereo is going, turn off the amps and the radio. Does it act funny? Now turn on the radio without the amps on. Does it act funny? Now try the amps. See where I"m going? Your system is only as good as it's weakest link.
