Strut isntall how to?

anyone know of a good how-to for coilover/strut install? It seems very straight forward but I just wanna know everything possible before I dive into it and something pops up. Thanks

ah man i did mine a few weeks ago..:banghead: I don't have any links for u to check out but make sure that when u take off your old shit.. you get all the washers off the old shock or it will push up int the car and not sit right.. i think there are 4. are u using a spring compressor? if u don't have on you can use a floor jack underneath the control arms to let a lil of the pressure out before u let it go. try to get one to come out in tact and you'll see how the washers sit. I bought tein coilovers and shocks.. the instructions were in Japanese...my JP was a bit rusty so i had to wing it.:bloated: Overall. it wasn't to hard but most definetly a pain in the ass. would be easier to pay someone to do the install

not hard at all
just get in there and u can see how everthing comes apart
four bolts on each strut to take out the hole strut assemblytwo on top an two on bottom
after u get them out use a srpingcompressor , compress it , undo the one bolt on the top of the strut....easy
i dont even use a spring compressor, theres not that much tension on civic springs, i just lay the strut betwen two blocks of wood an unscrew it till it pops off

well, I have whole new assembleys (new struts and coilovers) so I dont even have to use a spring compressor right? I can just take it out as a unit with the fork on the bottom and put it back in as one unit too right? Thanks for the info. I think im just gonna get started on it because it seems way too easy. Ive already had the struts unbolted once for something else and noticed how easy it looked to replace them.
