1991 Cutlass Supreme SL Keyless Module

Hi,

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot the keyless entry for the 1991 olds cutlass supreme SL? (It is a TRW key fob).

Sometimes the remotes do not operate the locks/trunk release.
Next day they work. I need to figure it out. Oldsmobile has closed it's dealers near me.

Do I have to re-program the keyless remote?

Reprogramming probably won't help at this point.. It's a place to start though.. In the trunk, next to the antenna, behind the carpet, you'll find a black wire.. ground that to the frame, press both 'lock' and 'unlock' on the remote until the doors lock/unlock. The remote will then be programmed.
If that doesn't help, the keyless receiver is shot. That's under the rear decklid.. right side.
