Bentley EXP Speed 8 - Finished pics !!!

I worked 2 weeks on this model, and now it's completed :)

As usual it's not perfect, but it will do. The pics are not terrific, but of course it's a lot harder to take some close-ups of a 1/43 model than a 1/12 model :)

The last pic shows my Bentley collection in 1/43 : to the left you see the 2001 Bentley nr 8 (finishing 3rd behind the 2 works Audi's), in the middle you see the 2002 Bentley nr 8 (finishing 4th behind the 3 works Audi's) and to the right you see the 2003 Bentley nr 7 (winning Le Mans for the first time after 73 years).

Looks just this side of awesome to me, Sennake. This ought to show those modifier kids just what you really can do in the "hobbyist's scale".

It's so well built, I can't spot any flaws like you said, so maybe you're a very big perfectionist (nitpicker?) or you just like to exaggerate !

No, really, it has quite some flaws (a few of them are even described in the thread about "the making of") :wink:

But of course I'm not gonna tell them, that is your job hehe :biggrin: I did mine by building the model and posting the pics :)

Yes, they represent the 5 Bentley wins at Le Mans earlier : 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929 and 1930.

You think it's our job to find and tell the errors. Some sort of a quiz, "spot the differences" :wink: Sure the wiper is to small, the rear view mirror support to thick and the aerials maybe over dimensioned. But WTF, that is not what this is all about. No kit is perfect and you made it out of the box, in 2 weeks time with a fantastic result!! I'm not gonna sit here and listen to your: "As usual it's not perfect, but it will do." IT is a very well executed job with the materials on hand and it sits beautifully on your collection. I still have to see the day, that - after so many years in modeling - I can finish a kit in 2 weeks time with such a good result. I think you did GREAT!! You got that? :wink: :wink:

oh and euh, did I tell you that I have the impression you have had some problems with the window. Something wrong with it but I can tell exactly what. :confused: :thefinger Satisfied?

Thanks Sennake, figured it might be something like that, but thought there were a few too many. Didn't realise Bently won Le Mans so many times in the 20s!

The record still stands for Porsche though.

Here (http://users.skynet.be/sennake/moca_lm.html) on my webpage you can see them all as models. I didn't build them all yet, you will recognize mine when you see a shadow underneath the car, the ones without a shadow "floating" in the air are from the Starter webpage...
