i have a 1998 honda accord LX, 4cyl., 5 speed and i want to change my shifter to a short shifter---if anyone has any info that could help i would appreciate it

Hey man. The short shifters dont require any extra work. All you need is the short shifter, and then get it installed. you dont need anything else that i can think of.

You should also get a new urethane bushing kit for your shift linkage while its out. It makes for better shifting and much firmer.

i believe accords have cable type shifters not rod type shifters like civics and integras. its not that hard to install them on accords. its an actual relocation plate or whatever you wanna call it rather than the shifter itself. plus, you wouldn't have to jack the car up to install it too. just take your shift boot out and read the instructions. DC makes one and some generic companies as well.
