Miranda has passed away

Hey Boys...
Sorry i've been gone so long.. i had an accident in the the max... it's totaled.. so she's in the grave yard. :frown: I'm okay though.

The cops have the whole police report screwed up... they cop who was writing up the report didnt' even get oout of his car and come talk to us.. here's the wacky story he came up with:

5 cars going north-bound on the interstate all in the left lane of a 5 lane highway... car #1 ( a white explorer) slammed on his brakes b/c a car inforont him was going to slow, then a car who was in the second to left lane started to change lane behing the explorer and then a beige mountaineer slammed into the blacl honda that was pulling in, then the red jeep cherokee who was behind the mountaineer was forced into the mountaineer by the green maxima (car #2) (me).....

so they are basically sayign that vehicles 1 & 2 were the causes of the accident.:sly:

HEre's what really happend:

Ther were only 4 vehicles not 5. Me and 3 other SUV's in the back. All of a sudden i see the red jeep infront of me slamming on their brakes well when you are traveling at 80 mph and you have bald tires... im not gonna stop on a dime.. well i tried to miss her but before i even hit her she ran right in to the back of the mountaineer. Then i slammed in to her.. my air bags went off, burned the crap outta me, then this other lound "boom" then my cabin filled with smoke and I passed out for about 30 seconds.. when i came to i had to kick the door open b/c it was jammed shut and the guy behind me came running up to my car, had to hold my cell phone to my face for me bc i was shaking so bad from being scared outta my mind.. which by the way i was the only one who called emergency... so then what I found out was... there were a couple old ladies going really slow in the left lane and then when the guy in the white suv saw he slowed way down enough to avoid hitting them, but the guy behind him in the beige suv hit him, then jeep hit him, then i hit the red jeep.... anyways... we made the news and everything... it's was horrible ... Miranda (the max) is dead now and i still have doctors apointments. But here's my dilemma... my court date is OCT 8th (which keep in mind this happend in may) and they are saying it's my fault which it's not only me and the white suv got the tickets , which the cops told me we were ALL gonna get the same ticket b/c it was their way of saying "they dont know what the hell happened" but it turns out the police report is all wrong and they are blaming half of it on me! What do i do?? should i dispute the ticket? Just pay it?

heck yeah dispute....did u get a # of anyone at the scene who saw it?? u're probably gonna need a lawyer :frown:

That sucks....that was a beautiful car.

thanks... your tellin me... i had put so much work in to it too. The first thing i did when i got outta the car was look at the intake lol... it was smashed to a million pieces!! It took me 3 hrsto put it on.. but the only thing i managed to salvage was the muffler off my exhaust system.. i didnt even get to get my lowering springs..which i did myself as well ;).. suckss... so i got a new Maxima same year and color.. only it's a 5spd and im lowering my car next weekend.. and the clear corners are on it's way.

You have to find out what caused the guy in front to slam on his brakes. Technically, it is your fault as you are the first one to hit someone?

Ticket I'd fight it as the officer obviously couldn't get his story straight. But you would still have to prepare and x-examine the officer if he showed up(you have to suponea the officer and the ticket notes etc..)

Sorry about the accident though

we did find out .. the first guy slammed on his brakes b/c some old ladies in front of him were going REALLY slow.. and oi was the last person to hit anyone.

If they were going slower than 45, then technically they are partly responsible also.

they dont even know they caused an accident they just kept on driving no one actually hit them

First off, it is good to hear from you again and I'm sorry about your loss and misfortune but at least you're ok, you can always get another car, you can't get back a lost life or limb.

This must be the time of accidents in the Maxima, I've had one, Paonessa's had one and now you and if you go over to maxima.org there are quite a few who's had them over there as well.

As far as your legal representation goes, if you can't afford an attorney, try looking for one of those prepaid legal representatives.

Too bad about Miranda, I feel your pain.
