hi after being a visitor for a lomg time i finally decide to join, anyways everybody here seems to know their stuff. i wanted to see if you guys can help me out i have a 92 civic si that i replaced the clutch and intake manifold when i finally put everything back the car wont start the engine will turn but immediately cuts off, now if i stomp the gas while turning it on the engine will turn on but as soon as i let go of the gas it dies, i've double checked the intake manifold and all hoses and just a month ago i replaced the distributer cap fuel filter and pcv valve ive gone crazy trying to figure out whats wrong so if anybody has any ideas i'd appreciate your help.

When you turn your key once over listen for the fuel pump to turn on. Make sure it works you might not be getting fuel to your engine properly. Ive seen the same thing happen before but the first majore problem was a camshaft broke then the fuel pump. Double check for sensors your more than likely over looking one suck as your MAP sensor?

yeah your roght the first thing i thought was the fuel pump but i hear it turn on but i'd really would be pissed off if it was the cam but if the cam broke wouldn't the engine not turn, well im also leaning towards the sensors or one of the hoses beacuse i put them back by memmory, and i've got a horrible memory i guess ill triple check

Well when the cam broke the motor started then died like you speak of but I dunno if it broke in the process or what its possible you have a hose or sensor unplugged.

Chilton probably would and helms manual it gives you the step by step instruction. You could just go back through and check everything from that. I know what you mean about not getting to drive man I got in a accident and have been out of a car for over a month I'm majoraly going through withdrawls. What kind of clutch/fly did you get as soon as I get my car back thats what I'm getting, what did you pay?, how hard was it to put it in?

i got a fidanza aluminum flywheel and a heavy duty clutch kit with 4 disk organic disk that includes throw out bearing all in all i paid about $400 for everything as far as putting it in, i had my brother help but your going to need a little bit of experience its not to hard but it is time consuming your going to need at least two jacks and two jack stands oh yeah cant forget the crow bar anyway with the help of a haynes manual it can be done but be prepared to be without you car for a while because alot of things will come up that have to be replaced if your car is as old as mine!

I've never really gotten the chance to race my car at the track because of my age but I had a friend drive it I weigh 140 lb's and he weighs about 250 lbs so theres gunna be a good difference in time from that alone but that being said my best was a 15.3 with 6 lb's of boost and no launch becuase I need that new clutch he didnt want to break my car so thats the best we pulled off I'm hoping for some 13's with the new clutch. Daily driver wise its totaly reliable IF your responsable with it I run 6 psi daily and some times I feel like turning it up but if your responsable it will last Ive been driving for over 5k miles and havent had any problems it idles ok and everything else. Boosting a civic is fun as hell man boosting a honda is unlike anything else that comes with a turbo man its alot of fun. about the vr-4 sorry I dont know any thing on that sorry.
