How dark of tint are some of you using? I was thinking of getting my G tinted for Christmas (a present to my self :) ) but don't know how dark I should go. My friend has a 2001 Accord with factory tint and he has been pulled over on several occasions here in Phoenix. Don't want the same thing happening to me!

I have a 'Medium' tint, which would be about 30-35% I believe on all windows. I don't know if this applies to elsewhere, but here (in Canada) you can have any type of tint you want on your windows, except for the driver and passenger sides, which have to be like a light tint (don't know percentage of that). I haven't been pulled over and I have had the tint for about 2 months now. Even if I do, I'll just say I bought it like that :)

Ya I have 35%.. And I'm pretty sure the front driver and passenger windows do have to be lighter tint (mine look the same darkness all around though.. ) Anyways, looks real good on my silver G.

35% all the way around is legal. However you cannot do the front winshield.

On an SUV, you can do limo tint behind the drivers view, and for the driver and passenger window, 35%

Over here, you can do any kind of % tint in the rear windows and back window. The front windows cannot be lower than 35%. Tinting the front windshield is illegal. (You can place a tint strip on top as long as it does not exceed 4" in height)

Where I went, they told me straight up before I got the tint done, that the medium tint that I was getting (35%) was illegal in the front driver and passenger windows, but it didn't matter for the back windows. These guys have been in business for years and have also mentioned how a couple of the people who got tints done at their joint got pulled over by cops and ticketed. It is illegal here, I know that for a fact - might not elsewhere. If you get pulled over by an asshole cop, he might even charge you for having your car too low and all that other crap. When I was in Law Enforcement College, they didn't teach us about this ;).

I think the last time I recieved a ticket, the cop told me it was about 7% see-through.

i just got 28% on my beige P11. looks nice. i dont anticipate getting pulled over for that alone - 27% is the legal limit in Colorado. but i noticed the windows were already slightly tinted with a greenish hue. that kinda makes it lower than 28%... so incase any cop gives me any problems, i keep my receipt of the tint job in the glovey.

15% all around (except windshield, of course). i've been pulled over more times than i would like to admit, but i've never been harassed about it or even questioned. i wouldn't go any darker, unless you want nobody to see in. btw limo tint is 10%. my friend has 35% on his bmw and that looks good. i would recommend 35% if you don't want to risk getting in trouble, especially w/ the cowboy cops you got down there.

Look at this site, they have all the state laws.

http://www.autowindowtintings.com/main.cfm?action=home

They differ ALOT...also some states require that you get a "certification" with your tint. This means that when you get pulled over, you can prove you only have 20% up front or whatever.

Also, for the strip on the winshield, look about 3/4 the way up, and by the drivers side of the glass. You will see a mark that is called "AS1"...this is the line that most states will allow you to tint down to.

I have 20% on all doors and 5% on rear window. I haven't been pulled over yet, because most of the time when I 'm driving, I have the front windows down, so you can't tell they're tinted. I am happy for now.......

I presently have but have-not put on: [1 layer-black 25%; and 1 layer mirror tint(cool chrome) 35%]. Basically nobody will ever see anything in my G20. Nuthin but reflection. So nobody can see you pull a Bill Clinton on the streets. If you wanna know where to get some, I ordered mine through a company advertised in Super Street. www.midwesttinting.com

I was thinking of doing that kind of tint, with the mirror look to it. My car is very light in color, like champagne, so I think it would look nice. Might keep my car a bit cooler in the summer here in Phoenix.

Than that is a must for you. The mirror look would set off you car's look. For the 35% mirror(cool chrome) it is like $115. Not bad, but you'll need someone to put it on for ya, unless you are talented. Most places only put on their own tint.

I have a place here in Phoenix, an indenpendant Acura shop, that does tinting for any vehicle. Great people to work with and great prices. They offer a good warranty and I figure they must be good, since many NSX owners have gone to them for tint jobs. I think they charge like $130.

Well that works out good for you. I don't know too much about performance mods, but I do know about cosmetic mods. Alot of people hate on mirror tint, but it adds more essence to the ride. There are primarlily 2 kinds of mirror tint- there is the kind that has a blue-ish look to it, and there is the kind that is more of a silver-ish look. I prefer the silver look.

I prefer the silverish look. I am starting a silver/aluminum motif in my car, so I think it would look pretty good.

tint is on the QX4 or the rear of the Pathfinders?
It somewhat looks silverish but at the same time it looks champagne?
Anyone know how I would get that tint on my car without going to the "Stealership"?
