Hello, I am wondering, does anyone know is that an actually video game that we see Jimmy Bly constantly playing in the movie "Driven"? If so can you tell me the name of it, it looks like it would be better then F1 2002 as it shows you all the errors you made and stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Its about F1 and it is lame, but I would still like to have that simulation that they had :)

If you are into F-1 simulation games, F-1 Career Challenge by EA is a good game. I enjoyed playing Grand Prix Challenge by Atari. Both games can be found on the PS2. I think F-1 Career Challenge can be found on the Xbox as well.

I love it when, in a racing movie, the hero is slightly behind the bad guy with only a few hundred yards to go, cameraman switches to a shot of his right foot as our hero FULLY depresses the accelerator to blast past the baddie and win the race! Cue scenes of jubilation. Classic Hollywood. It’s as if the drivers don’t have their foot down all the time and one of them suddenly thinks “hey, this might be a good idea”.. “driven” was no exception to this bullshit

It's nice to see you can tell the difference between an F1 car and a CART car.
:loser:

Driven is about CART, there isn't even the remotest relation to F1 in that movie.

Cheesy isnt the word for the 80s Cruise movies!

I was fully expecting at the end of DOT something along these lines:

"So, now you've won the Winston Cup. What are you going to do now?"

"I want to be an instructor at NASCAR!"

Yeah, Ive seen Top Gun a few too many times as well.

What, the "race" against his team boss wasnt cheesy enough? :iceslolan

Movies about racing should have ended with "Le Mans" and "Grand Prix".

Hollywood must be under the impression that auto racing fans are all a bunch of slack-jawed nitwits.

Hollywood is where the nitwits reside, my friend

he speaks the truth, all car movies have something cheesey. like the foot on the gas at the end of driven. or all the Naaaawwwwzzzz in TFTF, and how his supra kept up to his dads 10 second car. lol. or the big jump in gone in sixty seconds, where the car is fine. or, pretty much every scene there is in days of thunder.

but it is supposed to be exciting, and honestley, i think driven is the most exciting car movie ive seen.

i read in SCC where they tested the 2f2f cars. and the fastest was the YEnko camaro, at like 14 seconds. lol. its amazing what a camera can do these days.

Driven was originally shopped around as aFormula One film. But the F1 crowd must have realised how bad the movie was going to be and Sly shifted the setting to CART. I wonder if the downturn in CART's fortunes of late is related to this embarasing mess of a film.

Ashamed to say I actually own a DVD of Driven. My wife bought it for me for my birthday. She is now under instructions not to buy me any more DVDs!

Indeed Driven was supposed to be about F1, but Ecclestone and Stalone couldn't agreed on a deal (Bernie wanted too much apparently... oh surprising). If you like speed watch "Rendez vous" de Claude Lelouch (1975), a short movie showing only a inboard camera in a ferrari flying across paris at 5am. Just awesome.

Yeah, ive heard about that. It's a Ferrari 328 n'est-ce pas?. And the driver was supposedly ex F1? Where can i get my hands on this clip?

The driver is suppose to be Claude Lelouch himself driving his ferrari, I found some sites where he explained all about it and how illegal it was. He even had to explain himself to the chief of police once the film came out, he though he was gonna be done for it but the chief let him off cause his kids loved it.
Regarding the video I know u can by it but it's a bit expensive for 9mn. I had a look on the net but only found bad resolution and cut version. Trust me I'm really looking for it too.

It seem to be available on http://www.spiritlevelfilm.com/ for around £15, but do a search for: "rendez vous" claude lelouch . You should find loads of site as I remember finding more site selling it while I was looking for the complete video file.
