I want to replace my headlights (bulbs) with something other than the factory ones. Possibly Cool Blues or any other recommendations. My question is:
Would other bulbs produce more heat, thereby melt the casing? I've had some people tell me that it would, but I'm not sure.

Hmmm, I don't think the casing will melt- I replaced mine with these 80W Xenon bulbs, the bulb looks blue but produces a damn good deal of bright white light. Be careful though when you place these bulbs in place NEVER touch the bulb itself and wipe it's surface with soft dry tissue---if a finger print or any tiny dirt sticks to it---it's gonna explode!. The headlight casing becomes preety darn hot! that's for sure!...

How long have you had those Xenon's in there? And nothing's wrong with the casing? Hmm... maybe I'll get xenon's then....
