Burnouts

Hi, i have a 66 Ford Fairlane with all 4 drum brakes. I would like to show off everyonce in a while and do a burnout or brakestand (engine doesn't have enough power to actually just burnout), however the breaks in back are activated. Anybody know a good solution so to disengage the rear brakes, but not totally disconnect them?

a line-lock would prolly be the best solution for this...

Is a line lock permanent or reversable?

I believe that it installs directly into the front brake line. So it would then be reversable if you replace the line.

open the bleeders on the back brakes,, get alot of kero put it on the road and then powerblock..
hold the brake and push the gas and watch the smoke and if your lucky the fire

Good joke, but don't even consider trying something this stupid.

A line lock is a simple one way hydraulic valve that goes in the steel brake line to the front brakes, with a control knob mounted usually on the floor by the drivers seat. Tow trucks often have them in place of a parking brake.
Otherwise, people can soak down tires with WD40 for the same effect. However, the rear tires remain slippery for some time afterwards.

Smokey burnouts get pretty old after your first ticket from the cops or after buying two new tires, or rebuilding your differential because you seized the spider gears.

Good point on the differential. If you have posi, you've GOT to spin them both equally otherwise BANG!

you should put your efforts on making the engine burn out >>> not a brakestand.... more satisfying that way

I happen to agree with neves, why try to brake stand to make your car look cool when it cant even do it on its on, its pretty sad really

i agree with neeves and duster lover. all show and no go are for the ricers. you can boost the performance of that thing and really make peoples jaw drop.
