hi Guys,

I've had some great advice from everyone here -thanks - but I am totally fed up with my MAX ..I used to love it but after 103k miles on a 95 ..I cant believe it has so many problems within ONE month:

-- tranny gear shifting -- too rough
-- engine idling v shaky // timing issue pro'lly
-- shot heater core
-- rear suspension virtually 'gone' -- after replacing front struts last year..
-- EVAP cannister valve thingy needs replacement

And I take care of my car always - regular tune-ups, fixes etc... All this after I got my 2 fuel injectors and car ECM/ECU replaced... can you spell 'dollars'??

So if YOU had those above problems with your MAX would you sell it AS-IS and get a something newer ...OR is it worth fixing ALL that and keeping it? I am totally at a loss for what to do next with this annoying car... I am not impressed with Nissan quality today - I had a BUICK that went much longer before any such issues (and my maintenance was improved for my Max)...

I would weigh the amount it would cost to fix and the time that would take against whether you really want to keep the car. I don't know how much you dcould get for it, mostly because of a faulty transmission. You got a big decision to make. It seems to me you may have a factory sour grape, but I don't know. I would probably sell it.

Man, dang you're the only one I've ever heard that has dissed Nissan so hard about their quality. My car has more miles than yours and it is newer but I haven't or do not have any of the issues you are talking about.

Maybe it should be just your car you are talking about and not Nissan in general. I'm sorry that you have a junker but that is a rare thing when it comes to Maximas.

I'd personally fix and keep the car if I were in your shoes, hey it's given you 103,000 miles and just because somehow by some inspired act of God your Buick managed to live a little longer with lesser problems you want to kick your Max to the curb.

Well, FYI, I've owned a Buick and let me tell you that thing was a POS, it lasted up to 38k and it had one problem after the other, the damn thing stayed in the shop more than I drove it.

Silly me, what did I do, I went a bought another American car>Chrysler LeBaron, another POS lasted all of 58K and then it pulled a Buick on me and stayed in the shop even longer. Never, ever, eva, eva, eva will I buy another American made car again, unless it is a Corvette.

Keep the Max, fix the Max and you won't regret it.

sell and get urself another nissan max or a sentra spec v...either way it's still a nissan and the one you had must have been faulty from factory...
i have a 93 max and sure there are some kinks with it but that because it's a 10 yr old car!!!!
without constant vigilance and care for your car than of course it's going to screw up on you it also depends on the beating you gave it...
well anyways...that's just my opinion.
