Well, you have knowledge of the incident, and should you keep it from the police, that may come into play(not for sure though). Basically it's your call, what do you think is the right thing for you to do?

I wouldn't involve the police yet. Don't burn bridges, especially friends. Have you actually talked to him? What did he say?

Best course of action I can think of is wipe the whole thing down for prints, park it outside the dudes house with one door open and the keys on the floor. No one gets burned whatsoever.

As long as you didn't help or don't lie to the police when they ask then you'll stay out of legal trouble. As for your friendship. Tell him to take it back, accept the rap of joy riding and offer to try and help him with whatever caused him to want to commit a felony. If he gives you any grief, just walk away and move on to other friends.

I agree with what's been said so far. But my take is friend or not I'd tell him to tell the people what he did and return the car. If he refuses to do so then I'd threaten him saying I'll call the cops. I have no remorse for anyone who steals especially things like a car. If any of my friends stole cars then they would no longer be my friend and I would have no problem telling the cops. And they could enjoy their nice stay in the state prison being felt up by "Bubba" and "Frank".

Call the fucking cops. Stealing a fucking persons car, that just isn't right, and that dumbshit deserves to go see "Bubba". I dont care if you have known this shithead your whole life, call the damn cops.

BTW what kind of car is it?

I'd tell him to take the car back. If he doesn't want to be reasonable and give back what's not his, then I'd call the police - or at least tell the nieghbors who he is, and that he has the car - then they can call the police.

If any of my frieds were ever that stupid,I'd advise them to put the car back somewhere close to where it was taken from with a full tank of gas within 24 hours,or get turned in.My friends are only my friends for as long as they remain reasonably honest.Stealing near-new vehicles is not reasonably honest. It's assholes like him that crank up the insurance payments on your car. He's not just stealing from your neighbor,he's stealing from you.

yea he aint my friend anymore, i dont want to be around him

i saw the car today and it is FUCKED UP!!!

the body is all dented and scrateched, all the emblems are gone, the rimsare missing center caps tires are probally bald and i know the transmision is going to be shot

im going to give it a day or two to see what goes down

his brother is driving it around so he is bound to get caught, it has no plates and it look like it has been stolen from what condition it is in

Dont leave it up to chance. YOU can shut down this crime family. Do it now. For the good of society.

I know that sounded corny, but its true.

Call the cops he doesn't know it was you, b/c you can remain anonymous.

Don't post any more about it until this is resolved! You never know when something you've written can come back and bite you in the ass.

Hope you've made up your mind by now.Somebody's pride and joy is being trashed by a moron, and you KNOW how to put a stop to it.If you haven't already tipped the police off,do it anonymously. If you are too spineless to stop crime in your area, sooner or later it will be you who is the victim.Clearly, your friend is not involved any more, let his brother get busted.A good close scare like that might teach your friend a lesson.

Glad to hear that he got caught. Ya know I guess its one thing we can be thankful for about thieves and thats that they're stupid.

Arg! Say nothing, there is no reason for you to do so. Friend is guily? Let the police do thier job and prove it.
