What exhaust system to get?

I'm looking into a couple of exhaust systems right now, I've stopped on Greddy EVO and Apexi N1. I really don't want it to be loud, just make a nice deep sound. Also, I'd like to see some decent performace gains.
Which one would you suggest over those two, or would you suggest any others?
Thanks!

Of the two choices you named, I'd definitely go for the GReddy EVO. The Apex'i N1 has earned the reputation of one of the loudest exhausts money can buy! I'd also look into more sophisticated systems like the Mugen "twin loop" exhaust system (although it is very pricey - $975 last time I checked at King Motorsports), and knock off systems like the Mozart. Other brands have released twin loop exhausts now too, like DC Sports and Jackson Racing. And I know that twin loop systems sound great, as I have one myself.

Thanks. I ordered the Greddy Evo yesterday for $440 shipped. Not such a bad deal, I guess. I hope I like it.

Is the DC twin loop exhaust system any good for an ITR?

Not a clue. I haven’t seen any testing done for the system yet to illustrate power gains. Generally, unless they make a version specifically for the ITR, I wouldn’t go with it. Traditionally, versions made for the ITR feature better flow numbers to favor top end power, whereas versions for the GS-R would cater slightly more towards restriction to aid in mid range power enhancement.

So you would say it´s better than the stock one?

Yeah, most likely, but can't say for sure. OEM Honda components are well-designed and manufactured with excellent quality control, much more so than most aftermarket companies. There have been cases where aftermarket headers have lost power over the stock ones, but I can't say I've ever seen similar results for exhausts themselves.

I´ve heard about the problems with aftermarket headers, too. That´s why I was asking about the DC exhaust! I think I will keep the engine and exhaust stock because IMO an ITR is anyways fast compared to most cars driving around over here! I just want something for a better sound but a CAI won´t be street-legal. Maybe I should just wait till I got the car!?;)

And until the DC Sports TCS even comes out for Integras ;)
Only out for Civics right now. Integra and RSX coming out sometime "early next year", so they (DC Sports) say....

:smoker2: I´d guess that I will buy the car sometime "early next year" because exams are coming and I have to work over christmas. So it´ll be just in time!:D

Yep, that's some good timing :p I anticipate the TCS being a good quality exhaust. It looks like it is very similar to the Mugen twin loop system. Just that the DC had the 2 canisters exposed while the Mugen has them enclosed in a muffler... But we will have to wait and see...

 Yea, that´s true. I´m going to change the look, brakes and suspension at first anyways so it doesn´t matter if I have to wait for it!

The european ITRs should be exactly the same like in the states! 1,8l DOHC VTEC with 190hp (or is it 195hp?), 15"x6 rims (5 lugs) with 195/55 tires,......! Only the name is different. Over here it´s a Honda and not an Acura because we don´t have Acura! Why do you want to know that? Any good ideas...?:)

does anyone have any suggestions about which exhaust i should get for my second gen integra (90-93)...i have found alot of different systems, and i think ive pretty much narrowed it down to the Tanabe Racing Medalion, the HKS Hiper, and the DC Sports cat backs. i want it to be the absolute loudest it can possibly be, and i already have plans to remove the resonator on which ever system i get, but if anyone can help me out, i would really appreciate it, thanks.

You are crazy...But the TRM sounds the best for you......
Now that I think about it, Why even have an exhaust?

hey thanks for your help, i was leaning towards the tanabe anyway, they say it has minimal bends and thin piping, etc, i heard the HKS hiper sounded really good but wasnt that loud, and i dont think the DC sports could compare on noise level...ahh, if they only made a greddy evo or apexi N1 for second gen tegs...thanks again
