Is it necessary to get a Hi flow Cat if I am going to get a Cat-back exhaust.

from what i have read im not sure how much of a difference it would make over stock, i went with a test pipe because if i was only going to get 1-2 more hp with a hi flow cat, then why not go for a test pipe and shoot for maybe 3 hp. see what i mean and im not an expert in this area.
however i dont feel like the test pipe is hurting me, i suspect im getting more flow up top of each gear at higher rpms, my max just feels good up there. but i dont know anything for certain. the only way to get an idea is to replace with the stock cat and see if my times change but even if they do i bet it wont be much so its all minimal im thinking.
