Hello again everyone! Well.. I have a few questions to ask. Well my last post was asking what kind of engine I should get to swap with mine. Since then I learned it's definitely the H22A (H22 being like $2000 more which is too rich for my blood.) But other than that I've been trying to get information on what I should do after I get it installed but I dont seem to be finding anyone with any useful information. Mainly everyone's like "oh go for the I/H/E." Ok I'm sorry but isn't there more to fixing up your car besides the intake, headers and exhaust? Besides that, I'm thinkin that shouldn't there be sumthing on my car that needs to be replaced to suit the new engine better? I mean everything needed to be installed is all ready coming with the new engine but I'm thinking about axles, pistons, rods, cams? Well any information would sure be helpful.

how long do you want to keep the car? if you want it around for a while, just save and get the h22. there are a few out there that want to see what they can get out of the f22, but personally i think its a waste of time and money. and since your engine is probably getting a little old now, you would have a lot of rebuilding to do to get any reliable power out of it.

Why are you suggesting I get the H22 if I'm gonna keep it around for a long time?

its a better investment. its kind of like buying a newer used car. the engine im putting in has about 100k less miles on it. and of course i went from a 125hp pos to 200(with vtec and lsd). cant beat that. and its alot harder to get good power from a weak base.
btw my aim is stRodda.

why are you debating h22 and f22 when he already said he wants an h22? unless thats a type since you said an h22 is 2000 more then an h22... anyways you use accord axles. obviously the internals can be upgraded just like any engine just depends on your budget. are you staying all motor? A possible option I am considering is type s pistons since you dont have to resleeve and then like some stage 2 cams. just for like moderate n/a power. and yea there are other things it just depends how far you wanna go. euro-r intake manifold, throttle body, head work, fuel stuff etc.

That is a type. I said H22A and H22. Difference being that the H22 is a type-s resulting in the extra $2000. But anyways, what is throttle body and head work? Like I said I'm new and just trying to learn from whoever is willing to help me out.

ah i see. all h22 engines from japan have h22a on the block. so really its still an h22a just a type s. ok head work would be porting the head for better flow which is very expensive and has to be done properly so you don't lose proper flow characteristics. and then the throttle body is what brings air into the intake manifold so if you have everything else upgraded (like intake, intake manifold, head work etc) then you obviously dont want the stock sized throttle body to be the only restrictive part so you can replace it with one with a larger diameter.

Do the H22 swap definately. If its power that you want from a 4 cylinder, the H22A can give it to you. I think you would be suprised with the difference it would make.
