ESi means non-turbo model like Eclipse RS or GS

from what i have noticed with dsm's, is the life is long, if the car hasnt been beat to hell, but if something breaks, it will be expencive to fix..

Its just like any other car out on the road, if has been properly maintained and taken care of, then you shouldn't expect any more problems than any other car.

Yes they may be a tad more expensive to fix than others but at least your not driving a honda or j-body like everyone else.

actually 007 you are. DSM is made by MMC (mitsubishi motor company) So it is Japanese. So no you don't have an American car. Second Talon's are great I bought a 95 esi with 49k on it and it is the best car I have ever had. I put about 4,000 in upgrades and it is even better now. I suggest coil-overs by tien or tociko.
