hey everyone,

I am still working on this Skyline that i started a while ago. The problem was that i ran out of the TS 50 that i was using, when the model was only partially painted. So today when i went to Wal-Mart, i saw some Testors spray, and i picked it up. its called "True Blue Pearl". I am going to try and paint over what i originally painted with the tamiya, with the True Blue Pearl. Is this alright??? I sure hope so, and i was wondering if the two colors look similar?? Thanx in advance.

It should not be a problem as Testor's is an enamel. Enamel over laquer(Tamiya)is ok but not the other way around. I would reccomend sanding the paint(1000-2000 grit)before applying the enamel to give the paint some grip and give you a smoother surface to start with.

There is a very significant difference in colors, one is a mica and the other a pearl meaning they look different when painted.

Rather paint everything with with either one or the other.

just one thing, did you primer? if so, what color primer did you use? the only reason i ask this is that the problem may not be in paint adhesion but in different shades of blue. blue over white would yield a different shade than... say... the tamiya blue... so there might be a chance that you'll run into a color gradient or shade when you paint the body. just another aspect to think about. i would strip the paint if you were using a different color. something to think about.
