have you looked into any other brands? i can list lots of subs that will get just as loud and sound better. how much are you gonna spend on each 10"?

you'll want the sub in a box. lol. ported is where there is a big vent. sealed has no vents at all. don't know how to explain it.
MTX-81000D (or newer one)
Rockford Fosgate BD1500
how much can you spend on the amp?

power HX2's are about $250 at least (if its no on sale, its over 350). the 90-120 are the HE/HE2. IMO not worth it. don't go sony. trust me on this one:biggrin:

elemental designs k-series (www.edesignaudio.com)
had the older one and loved it. outperformed many subs for the price.
for an amp...i'll look for it later after i'm done studying. lol

I would suggest some JL Audio W6 12's. Major bang for your buck, plus it doesn't take as much power to push them.

cant have 12's. my cuzin gave me his old box for 2 10's and i just dont feel like buyin another box. u kno, savin money. but how bout like alpine type-s or type-R, the S go fo 120, R go for 200, are these worth it? im thinkin of spendin about 200 for an amp and ~250-300 for 2 subs. is that pointless or can be done>?

I've heard alot of good things about the Type R's, haven't heard anything about the Type-S. If you're willing to spend that much, then you should look into Memphis. They have excellent subs, highs, and amps....with great quality sound and they're a quality product. Check out www.Memphiscaraudio.com and search for the nearest dealer. Find the 10" HPO's, these are good subs.

my old e15k (before the current ones) surpasses the type R in SQ and SPL. is a tad smoother on the low end and more detailed. u can compare this to the IDQ. the new ones should have no problem taking care of the type R's. not to mention u get 3 years warranty and an outstanding customer service. Ben and the rest are really helpful. they even have box designs on their website for customers to look at.

I think the Adire Shiva is about $125 shipped for a 12" so I guess the 10" would be cheaper. I'm not familiar with any of the Adire line though. GSteg should have more info. on them.

aight found it. forget the type -R . i found audiobahn AW1000Q 10's for 89 each. 600 watt rms wit peak 1200. theyre dual 4 ohm, so i was wonderin what amp would u reccomend to go wit that?

uh...audiobahn:frown:
SQ-wise, u would want to stay away from audiobahn. if u like distorted bass, then by my guest:biggrin: i would rather get the Type S over these anyday.
whohoo! k67p67 suggested a shiva:bigthumb: 12's are 125 shipped each. they don't come in 10's though. the downside is the look of it (www.adireaudio.com)
or u can wait til mid-september and get the elemental designs Kx-series which "should" eat up those audiobahns in sound quality. i say "should" because i have not heard it (obviously), but ED is a SQ company so i wouldn't be surprise if the Kx sounds as good or better than the alpine type S (maybe R?). 3 years warranty, great customer service, $85 for 12" and $75 for 10", what more could u ask for?

Either go with the Adire Audio, or check out some Image Dynamics...they are awesome too. The IDMAX series is just too good.

finally it gets some recognition here.
anyone wanna come down here and witness the monster is more than welcome to. i'll eventually have it in ported box (about 3 cubes). most likely an interchangable port (from 29hz to 45hz) and a port cover that i can use (put something in and whala, sealed box). i cover the port and its an IB setup:bigthumb:

Ill come down and whitness your IDMAX and crush you with ma dual 15" HC ported 8.5 Cubes tuned at 38hz 1000rms @ 1 ohm each sub.
:thefinger
If you want bang for your buck, and your not really into car audio, hook yourself up with some pioneers or MTX or even some punch rockfords, they are cheap and pump well with a small amp, anything bigger like whati got you end up spending way to much, but its so loud you can kill people by rolling past them on the street :comprage1

Let's see...(2) 15"s vs. (1) 12". Pretty much a no-brainer noob. Pull your head out of your ass and come with something real. You wanna compare? Put one 12" HC up against that IDMAX 12". Then we can see what's what.

ok, here's the bottom line, if you want the best go with harman international companies. I'd def suggest Infinity Perfect 10's and a JBL BP600.1 you'll get incredible sound, i know i have perfect 12s of my own with a BP600.1. As for price go to www.sounddomain.com pick out what you want put it in you cart, then go to www.etronics.com and find the stuff, go to sounddomain hit the price match guarentee and fill out the form. The subs would be about $110 a peice and the amp a lil under $200, and you'll be buying from an authorised dealer;) well hope that helps later

I hate to say this, but the IDMAX 12" bangs harder than most 15", but one on one. I don't know about 1 IDMAX 12" against 2 15" subs, but yes the IDMAX is one of the best out there and I give major praise to it.

Haha im just messin boys, :iceslolan
The IDMAX are sick subs, the HC's arn't amazing but they sure lay a wallape, i like them good sc and good spl. Yeah the se's would prolly compete, 2 12 se's vs 2 15 hc's would be a good comp. I dunno about the idmax's in spl, im sure you can get them pumping good but they are more sq orientated?

no my friend. i got a single 15" RE SE:bigthumb: that vs. a single 15" HC would be good. of course the SE would whip the HC anyways.
the IDMAX was built for SQ, but it just happens to get loud too. biggest cone area of any 12" sub with over 25mm of xmax, yea..it'll get loud.
