This is my first model since i was like 9. It's funny, cause my plan was to build a civic (which i love ) as my first model, but they weren't in stock. I was about to get teh new civic sir, but when i saw that the s200 had the mugen rims, I knew i had to get this kit. Buying a tamiya is soo pleasing, i then was scoping out some lancers and altezza by fujimi when i came across a 96 piaa accord by tamiya. So that day i came home with a s2000 and a accord. I'm glad with my purchase, but next stop to My HLS, expect some civic's :iceslolan
s2000:
the body is waiting with 3 coats of primer, to be painted pearl white.
I'm working on the windows and touching up the underchassie. One of the tamiya s2000 stock wheels broke broke, so now i'm forced to get replacement of use those MUGEN WHEELS
tell me what you think.

I'm in need of help.
My plan is to turn this stock s2000 into a semi-/sleeper race car. It's gonna looks stock from outside, but when you look under the chassie, inside etc, it should have a race type interior. right now i'm working on the interior, which i'm gonna strip everything that's waste: 2nd seat, door panels and the rear part of the seats. A Roll cage and Nos bottle (do i need NOS??) is going in.
My problem is that i've cut out the copper wires under protective plastic. I don't know how i'm gonna join these wires to create a roll cage. Should i solder them together? or Tamiya cement or tamiya epoxy putty?
this is a pic copper wiring which will be put together to create a roll cage.

No Nitrous, please!! The F20 is such a perfect motor already, don't insult it like that. Nitrous is cheating.
I also like your exhaust painting, top notch. And finally, how come your suspension arms are red? Just curious.

And would you guys quit calling its NOS, Nos, and NoS. NOS is a company not a product. Nitrous Oxide Systems makes a nitrous kit so would you please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, not call it nos and call it nitrous.

Yeah, the N2O isnt needed on an S2000.
For the roll cage, soldering might be your best bet.

about the suspension being red, I didn't want the car looking stock. Those are racing sus. arms which i though would look cool red and blue. The other side is blue, but the pics was too dark.
here is a progress pic of my roll cage, i've cut new wires because the white was too long. here it is soldered the roof section.

i always thought the chemical name for nitrous oxide gas was N0S, or am i wrong and jsut dreampt it in a weird dream, not having a periodic table here i can t check, any science buffs there want to confirm or deny my claims?
anyway i do agree with hiroboy that the scale of the bottle is too big, well mainly the size of the vallve gear, why not get an amt fnf poopra and canabalise it for the nos bottles in there plus it carries the decals to make the bottle authentic:bigthumb:

N.O.S. is the Nitrous Oxide Systems company that makes NOS nitrous systems. and yeah that bottle is too big. I do believe its capital N little 2 capital O N2O

change in plan for my s2000. I don't think i'll stick with teh roll cage idea, and i'm gonna trash teh bottle or put it in a civic, add the second seat, giving it a stock look again.
Maybe if i feel up to it, i'll mod this car when i'm done: eventhough it's a bad idea right?
I'm looking foward to starting a civic project, you know that feeling you get when your working on a current car, but inside of you wants that other car.

sengming, it looks great! Build it how you want it, it's your kit.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think that if you keep up with what you had planned that it will turn out better than expected and most on here would probably agree.
Good Luck!
Chris

ok..thanks for the advice..i decided to add teh roll cage after all. BUT i didn't stick the the cupper wire..it was too hard, funny looking and time consuming. I wasn't too good at it, and the fumes are :bloated: . I instead chosed to use the platic tree parts from the model. They were cut then heated to be bended in shape. I did try to weld them but the fumes froms the platics is:bloated: :bloated: :bloated: so i glued them in place. I'm very lazy, that's why i did not prepare them and so you can still see some left over pieces from the tree. They just need to be primed and painted. I'm also gonna change my exhaust with a homemade apex n1 style one.

hehehe:biggrin2: yea true. So what can i do to make it look better? well for starters: vut of the left over peices and sand it down. I think i wanna get some epoxy/putty, it seems very fun to mod and add stuff to your models. It ca also be used to join peices together LIKE my roll cage. But it's like $11.00 CAN soo like around $7.00 US. A bit expensive for a small tude. Can i just get any type of putty i find at the art store?
the exhaust is looks alittle big on the 1:24 scale models, BUT looks better on a 1:18 scale. I guess a smaller might looks better but i don't have anymore idea of how to make it smaller. I can't seem to find any of that strylene stuff and y LHS and don't like using the net to buy things.
thanks

ok i've ditched the whole roll cage/race look idea. I've grown board of this project and just want to see it done, because i was just tryin the body on the chassie and it LOOKS SWWWEEETT enough to me. BUt i did mod the exhaust system by swaping it with a Ti (hehehe) apex N1 style exhaust. It should be a straight pipe which i spainted black and the tip is just silver with a coat of laquer(sp.) It's now a single tip instead of the dual exhaust set-up. But i LOVE single tips. here's a pic .
I'm just waiting for the paint to harden and then i will polish it and finish up the detail.
