When will a new Civic come out?

I'm sick of the '01+ Civics and am looking forward to something new. Anybody know some secrets from the inside? :smile:

The Integra lasted what, 9 or 10 years? That was a good body though, and I still like it better than the RSX. I hope this Civic dies an early grave and gets totally redone in '04.

Yep...usually about every 5 years...I'm guessing on taking a look at anything new coming out of Japan, also road & track, car & driver, etc...

Honda should have kept that body going until sales went to zilch, just to see how long they could sell them while making profit. I mean look at the beauty in my sig, it's still stylish and it was what like 12 years ago when they started making them? Civics, well, sucked but started looking good then took a total nosedive in '01. I do like the new interior, but that wussy exterior and sad excuse for an engine gotta go.

I helped build the first one through the line here at the East Liberty plant in Ohio when I worked there, and it got a lot of sneers and funny looks from most of the workers.

what kind of wheels are those on those two cars in your sig rich? are they the same wheels? Your sig is badass.

I have no idea what kind of rims they are but I like them too.

i dont know about the civic but i have heard and seen it on a web site that there are rumors that there is gonna be a new design for the Civic CRX. I looked for the web stie and found it. Dont know if its true though.

That site is websensed for me at work, but I think I've seen it before and it looked like some f'ed up Honda Insight (the battery/gas one). That was about 6 months ago though, so maybe it changed. Can somebody download/attach a pic?

Hmm, looks like an RSX. I hope they have more than 90hp or whatever the old ones had. I wonder if Honda will sell them for the same price as Civics? Hopefully they'll put some guts under the hood and make it worth $18k - $20k to fill the gap between the Civic and RSX.

edit: Just saw the small print about it "flogging" the Integra R.. dayum. I may have to start saving up :)

Is it just me or is that windshield abnormally huge? Looks like the roof has a receding hairline or something.

I didn't notice that before, but you're right. it looks like the windshield would end right above the driver.

"Honda is thinking of bringing back it's best model ever produced and I am very pleased that they might do so, I say might because it is not official if Honda is planning on doing so, but it is very possible they will.

It has been almost 20 years since the CRX was first introduced and the combination of being light and potent hasn't lost it's appeal and Honda is seriously considering developing a two-seat sports car with those qualities. The car which Honda is already calling the CRX, could appear in late 2004 or early 2005.

In Japan the CRX will exist in two forms: an entry-level model with a 1.0-litre DOHC VTEC triple producing appoximately 74 kW (99 hp) (the engine derived from the block used in Honda's Insight hybrid coupe), and a hardcore 1.6-litre DOHC four cylinder engine (also with VTEC) generating 110-115 kW (about 150 hp). Not incredible, until you realise that the target weight for the four-cylinder coupe is said to cut under 800 kg (about 1920 lbs). That's 200 kg (440 lbs) less than the Mini and 175 kg (385 lbs) lighter than an MR2.

Transmissions proposed are a five-speed manual for the 1.0-liter three cylinder,
and a six-speed manual for the 1.6-liter

The new two-seater is small, and information from Honda indicates a wheelbase in the 2250 to 2350 mm (89 to 93 inch range), overall length of less than 3650 mm (144 inches), width of 1690 mm (67 inches) and height below 1270 mm (50 inches). This makes it a strictly a two-person ride. "

That's pretty light, even my 2400lb hatch gets blown around during windy days. Should be pretty quick though even with only 150hp. I don't see moonroofs as being a possibility, but maybe the del sol type removable top will be an option?

That thing is pretty damn light! When the Windy City starts really living up to its nickname, my 3200lb Accord gets a lil tossed!!! I guess thats what low center of gravity is all about, but still. Deezam!:bloated:

tell me about it. Thats why i like my car nice and low, even though its ride height is stock its still lower than other cars. Ive gone tru some nasty winds in mexico with the family's van, Chevy Astro. I had to keep both my hands on the steering wheel and adjust every second, besides the fact that the van is tall. The handling was way more controlable on my honda though.

It looks like a mix between an RSX and an SI, can't wait.

I thought I remembered seeing pics of a 2004 Civic, but I could be wrong, Ill see if I can find the link.

ugh... I have a feeling the days of easily tunable Civics are coming to an end, and they're going to be more familycar'ish, slow pieces of shit. None of them will ever look better than the 96-00's, or maybe even the 92-95's.
