Embarressing race moments?

So how many of us have screwed up in a race (strip, track, khana/cross, hillclimb etc)? I was thinking about the highlights of mine this morning.

Drag against an EK4 VTiR Civic (B16A powered EK released as the Si in Japan): On a slight incline, waiting for the flagman to drop his arms, both hatches start to roll back on a slight incline - not thinking, we both pull on our handbrakes as the arms drop :loser:
Huntly Hillclimb near Wollongong in New South Wales in a SBC (first gen 130bhp 1400 hybrid). Twin Dell Ortos, Jackson headers, mugen R1 cam, EN1 stroker crank and rods, RS1200 close ratio gearbox, 73mm goldwing pistons... too much throttle (this is a 650 kilo car remember and the front wheels cros sthe trap beam and then smoke up - doh. More humiliating was the fact that with all my mods. I'd forgotten that when on full throttle on a steep incline and 35mm Dell Ortos etc all sucking hard at the tank - a stock fuel pump wont cut it - stalled 3/4 up the hill :loser: :loser:
Oran Park, again in a 1st gen SBC, this time powered by a rayjay turbo bolted onto the intake manifold in place of the carb and drawing through a 40mm Solex carb with water methonol injection. Nothing under 3000rpm as it was decompressed to 8.5:1 and massive lag, 6000rpm = 14lbs boost. Unfortunately, cornering in an SBC often means 3000rpm as you come onto the gas - it did, wheels smoked, massive understeer - straight into the armco/retaining wall :loser: :loser: :loser:
Any number of WDs in motokhana in either an SBC or GL EF. I swear I have dyslexia of map-reading skills. Most embarressing was running in a friend's 'lude with ALB - on wet grass - come the garages after an excellent slalom I hit the breaks and the car keeps going scattering the idiots loitering behind the garage :biggrin2:

i have one....well sort of...
I was messing with this e-class mercedes on the turnpike, and he was getting really pissed, because he couldnt pass me, and I kept blocking him. Well anyway, he gets into the far right lane (im in the far left), and we both have clear road. Im looking at him...making faces as we acceralate past 130mph....then we hit traffic...I put my foot on the clutch to drop into neutral, and the throttle starts bouncing off the limiter
Im like....WTF???, and thought my trans had fucked up some how. I pulled over and shut off the car. Got out looked at a bunch of stuff, couldnt see anything wrong. Got back into the car, started it...and immediately shut it off when the throttle screamed and limited itself again.
SO im like..."this is fucking great". So i walk over 20yards and pull the help call box handle, which sends a tow truck...So me an my gf are waiting.
Just as the tow truck pulls up behind me, I look down and realize my gas pedal looks really low. So I take another look, and im like "NO FUKKING WAY!"....and I STOMP on the gas pedal, and the thing pops back up.
Here, when i shifted hard into 4th, the gas pedal got stuck in the carpet, and when i let off the gear, would scream like mad.....The shitty part was, I had to pay the tow truck driver $40 for just coming out there.
