ok, I own a 1965 K code mustang. I want to get a Paxton supercharger but they where ugly back then and i don't want one of the old ones. Does anyone know if i can put a new Paxton on it or a VORTECH on it? If you do, can you post a link or something because i have nothing.

Carbed motor but you want a centrifugal S/C. Powerdynes is making nice kits for carbed motor cars. They have put out very impressive numbers.

Powerdyne, how do they do that? Pressurize the carb, like the old Paxtons?

Powerdyne does not make a kit specifically for carb'ed cars, and even if they did I wouldn't waste my money on one. What I would do is go to summit and buy a vortech YS-trim kit (pass. side if you don't want to run an IC, drivers side rengade kit if you want to rig up an IC) and run that through a carb hat to your carb. You need to get rid of the brass floats for solid nitrophyl floats, up the jetting a few steps for a baseline, and you must remove the choke assembly + horn. Make sure you have a big enough fuel pump and you have a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator.

You might want to get an electric fuel pump as well.

For this application, YS is a bit much. I would imagine with a 65, his compression would be fairly high. So, a YS would be over kill. Now an SQ would fit the bill.

Silent, but deadly.

so, basicly a NOVI 1000 OR NOVI 2000 Paxton wouldn't work on my car? Nor the VORTECH supersharger?.

You can make it work, it would just be a pain.

The problem is when you go into boost, that pressure will literally push the gas back into the fuel lines, so you have to increase the fuel pressure to compensate for the boost pressure.

Yep, paxtons work, but I prefer vortechs. The novi 1K is tiny, and the novi 2K is Vortech YS sized, but you can get YS trims in "stripper kits" that don't include the fuel system and all that trash you wouldn't use anyways.

Oh, and if anyone was wondering, i'm not going to use the K code block. I'm going to be using a C code block or maybe the GT A code block.
