I have an 03 525i and am wondering what to trade it for

I have a 2003 BMW 525i optioned out like a mofo, and i need to know what to trade it in for. I was thinking about a Type R Integra or Civic but I might get a 5th gen hatch maybe a DX or CX and then do a B18C5 engine swap and then add on possibly a big fat snail and name it GReddy:dogpile:. just give me some of your ideas. I was also thinking about becoming :bigthumb:*DriftMasta*:bigthumb: and getting a 240SX or a 300ZX. anything will help.

Why would you trade a 5 series for a Honda!?

It's not a bad car at all, you could fall asleep in it in seconds it's so damn comfortable, but it's automatic and I've always loved hondas. Plus I want something that I can work on and tune anyways. the 5 i cant do a whole lot besides Supercharge, Exhaust and other small stuff. It's a good drifter too but I want something funner.

lol. If you have money for a brand new BMW, why the hell are you wasting time with hondas.

i say trade it for a 1981 Pontiac Grand Prix. It combines style with big huge steel panels to make for the ultimate pimp ride! If that is not your taste, how about any 70's model Ford Mustang? Yes, the 70's, when all vehicle designers used way too much acid and came up with the most hideous pieces of shit they could think of to fend off the evil demons they saw the night before.
In all seriousness, I would stick with the bimmer, unless its auto, then i would trade it for a lexus sc400 or possibly a new 3 series bmw with manual. the lexus is small but still packs a decent v8 and the bimmer, well that is the ultimate driving machine!

why not trade the 5series for like a 99-00 M3?

Huy Buddy, you said you wanna trade it for a honda 5th gen maybe. Wanna trade with me:biggrin: In all seriousness, if you wanna trade it for something cuz it's an auto, why not trade it for another BMW, like a 99 M3 manual or something. If you can afford a 2003 525i, why are you wanting to get rid of it and drive a civic? I'd stick with the 525i, and buy a project car to work with, like a 92-95 civic or 89+ 240sx. Not too expanisve, and a fun project car you can mold into what you want and build up. But don't dump a BMW for a Honda, please!!! I you have your heart set on dumping the AT 525i, trade it and get a slightly used 99+ manual BMW (I say go for a 99+ M3!!). Since your car is a 2003 525i, you should be able to trade it for something like that easy.

True, but I still love the M3, plus a M3 would be no additional cost out of his pocket, considering he has a 500 series 525i, the top 500 series M5 might be a little cost out of his pocket. That's my train of thought, but hell, M3, M5...they are all tight as hell. He can't loose either way:bigthumb: :bigthumb:

M3 or Mroadster/coupe would be nice
M5 would be better
The new 500hp V10 - wait for it:bigthumb: i think '05 model
6 series is coming back
How about 850? 7's are nice
I love BMW's -- If I had the money I would take a 318ti & do a swap before doing a civic swap. RWD is SO MUCH better than FWD
Fuck it - get a Z8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jackasssi, thats the best idea yet, get a Z8!! Hell Yeah, 5 liter, 32 valve engine, 400 HP, 0-100km (0-62) in 4.7 seconds. If you can take of the electronic limit on the top speed (155mph), you'll really get that baby up there!! Doesn't it have a near 50/50 weight distribution, if I remember correctly, That, with RWD, makes for some damn good handling and concering. Great Idea man, I definatly like this idea too. Of course, if he can't afford it, the M3 and M5 are good too. 5.2 seconds for 0-100 km (0-62) and 343 hp (on the german version at least, isn't too bad either:bigthumb:

if he can only afford a 525i then he can't afford a Z8....there was one in the bmw dealship i went to 2 weeks ago...it was some kind of special edition that came with stock 20" rims....with a price tag of $140K...plus a regular Z8 is expensive as crap

I guess so, or something like that. But I still wouldn't dump a BMW for a project civic or integra. If he really wants a RWD and a honda, the NSX was a good idea. Though the S2000 would work, and he could mess with that. Still, if he has his heart set on another car since his 525i is AT, I still think he should get a 99+ M3

I worked for BMW for 2.5yrs & drove pretty much every model besides a Z8, however I was given a ride:wink: That was the best job I ever had. Patrick Racing M3's to $175,000 7 series with all types of crap(lap top, fax, tv, dvd, etc . . . Even got to drive the GREAT Walter Payton's BMW's - he had an 850, 740, & (3) M3's for the family + more vehicles including a lambo(never drove that one but sat in it)

All right guys, First off thanx a lot for all of the reccomendations. and to clear something up. I did not buy it, it was given to me and its automatic. I looked at an M3 and the dealer said that because my car was driven off the lot and whatever the most i can get for it is like....$52,650 or something like that. Thats enough for a base M3 but I cant get any options on it or shit like that. Z8's cost over 100 grand, so that's not an option. Z4 would be nice but I want something with more than 2 seats. I would like to stay bimmer but there's so much more you can do to other cars. I like the S2000 idea, that could really work. the SC400 was a nice idea but that has jack shit for backseat room. M5's will cost me money out of my pocket...$13,500 if I calculate correctly. I like the M3 idea a lot. if any of yall know where I can find an E46 model with all options (Leather, In-Dash CD Changer, Bose Sound, etc..) please do tell me. I have researched and found a GReddy, RevHard, and TurboXS turbo kits and a Jackson Racing, and Vortech Supercharge kit for a 99-03 M3 E46. It's looking like I will be getting an M3 or an S2000. I'm still open to other suggestions, and if you all find an M3 or an S2000around for sale then please show me. Again THANX ALOT :bigthumb:

OKay, here's my sugesttion. Look for the 99, maybe 2000 M3's. They should be a little cheaper, due to age, than a 2003, etc. Besides trading your 525i to a dealer and trying to get a car, you could also either trade it to a dealer for $$ or sell it private party, and take the 52 grand and buy a private party M3. I know that in the area I live you could find a nice one for that price. Where are you at? I look and see if I can find anything for you. You'll have about 52 grand if you sell the 525i, correct?

If you got an S2000, and turbocharged it, you'd be making about as much hp as a stock M3. If you turbocharged an M3 you'd be making more than 450hp!:bloated:

As I figure it runs, I will have about $52 G's. I live in Tyler, TX, it's about 100 miles from the Louisiana border so anything in Shreveport or Bossier City would be okay. I found one M3 that was a 97, but it has 137,000 miles on it, and it doesn't even have Leather seats. He wanted $39,000 for it. I looked at an '02 S2000 also and it had all options and it was running at $23,000 with around 18,000 miles on it. Thank for the help guys.
