Can an '03 WRX withstand 24 psi boost (with an aftermarket turbo) without exploding?

Yes it can with good tuning. Running on 24psi for a long period, maybe it can but....24 is really pushing it though unless you have good tuning.

I'd say don't go any higher than 25psi because the internals might go out.

IMHO, I wouldn't go more than 19psi if you plan on sticking with the stock internals and will be driving your car as a daily driver.

The WRX can probably hold 24 PSI if properly tuned. But I don't believe that the Rally Team runs that much boost pressure in there cars. Why would you need that much anyways? Even with the best turbo on the market and proper tuning I think that you would burn the unit up rather quickly. Just buy an STi ! ~C.J.~

Definately not on a stock bottom end. 24psi is testing the limits of pump gas.

All I can say from years of messing around with Turbo cars is that 24psi of BOOST on a stock motor without ECU/Internals?Fuel mods=

22psi for 40k miles now. I will be in 24 psi with GT30 turbo in about one month.
It can be done, UTEC and STi injectors are needed.

In my opinion, thats suicide running a stock WRX on 24 PSI. If you want more horses, just start out with stuff like exhaust, intake, new PCM, etc. 24 PSI is too much for street use anyways, unless your dragging
