I just picked up a 95 Mustang GT and am starting to build it up. I've already put in Flowmaster American thunders, a K & N filtercharger, 45k volt ignition coil, and new 8mm wires. The next thing I want to do is put in 24 lb/hour fuel injectors, but I hear that some kind of air system tuning is necessary? I've also heard that because I put the K & N in, there is already enough air going into the fuel system and I dont need to worry about it. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated. Id also like to add sub-frame connectors, a 65mm throttle body, and underdrive pulleys. The combination of these things should be put me up around 300 horse, 360 torque, which is about where I want to be. If anyone else has a better suggestion on how to get there for that kind of cheap money, I'm all ears!

WOW, you won't even come close to 300 HP with the few mods you just listed. A stock 95 GT has 215HP. Your cat back system and K&N probably added a few horses, but not a heck of a lot. Just installing a larger TB, pulleys and bigger injectors to you current combo will not give you 300 HP. The stock injectors on your mustang are just fine, and will be good to about 350 or so HP. Also running different PSI injectors will also make it necessary to get a new mass air meter calibrated to the larger injectors.

If that were my car, and was looking for more performance heres what I would do.
-Install new gears, 3.73's are good.
-Headers with a high flow catalytic h-pipe, to complement that Flowmaster system you already have.
-Pulleys
-larger TB, and possibly MAF meter.

These things will definitely help, which you should feel in the seat of the pants. To really achieve 300+HP, a new intake manifold, and new heads would be a good choice. Or a power adder would be beneficial. A shot of nitrous, or a 8psi blower would work good.

Def get sub-frame connectors they are must for all uni-body cars.

I had my mustang with 56,478 miles on it dynoed the day after I bought it. it had 222 HP at 4560 RPM and 279 lb/trque at 3483 RPMs. This leads me to believe it had 225 and 285 stock respectively. The flowmaster says I get 7-12 percent gain, and the K & N says 2-4 percent. Assuming ten percent and 3 percent, that means an HP gain of about 28... this would put me at +- 250. I'm pretty sure the torque goes up with the HP, probably even more, but for arguments sake well saay its the same. This would give me roughly 250 and 313. Of course this is lame and I should have it dynoed again but I dont have time to redo it every time I change smething. Also, the previous owner was a chick so I knw she didnt do anything to it. I know, I culdnt believe that a chick drove a black on black GT either. Anyway, Im basically looking for 50 horse. I think the next thing that I do is a larger TB. I'm looking at Ford Racing 65 and 70mm TBs, if you guys know a better brand then that I'm all ears, and also is there that much of a difference? how much HP will this get me? As you probly figured Im kinda new at this tuning deal. I've also heard that chips are pretty inexpensive way to add 20 horse, what are your thughts on those?

Just because a certain manufacture clams a certain power increase, doesn't always mean that's what will be gained. When tuning a motor, the parts you buy work best in combination with other parts, and that's how most companies rate their parts. So just adding exhaust will help a stock car breath better and increase hp levels, but having a motor with heads/cam/intake is where the exhaust will really have an advantage. If you were to take baseline dyno's from two motors, one totally stock, and one with heads/cam/intake, both having stock exhaust. Then if you were to take those motors again and add a complete free flowing exhaust to both and run a dyno. You will find a bigger power increase in the modified motor over the stock motor.

I say your K&N is giving you maybe 2-5 hp. Since your still running stock headers and h-pipe, with just a catback, you still have major restrictions, so maybe an increase of no more then 10-15 hp there.

Again, if that were my car, and was looking for more performance heres what I would do.

-larger TB 65mm is good, 70mm would be too big for a semi stock car, and a 75mm MAF meter.

Listen to Hi-Flow 5.0, he knows what he is talking about. I agree 100% with what he is telling you.

You come on here asking for advice, and he is giving you just that. If you go to any other Mustang board, you are going to get the same response. Why, because its the truth.

If your stock 5.0 put down 220 RWHP, it's a factory freak. A stock 95 GT should put down about 190-200, and the flows might add 5 RWHP. If you want to add 24 lb/hr injectors (which are COMPLETELY useless untill you do other stuff to make more power) you need to get a MAF calibrated for the 24 lb injectors. But to get to 300 HP you're going to need long tubes, full exhaust, ported heads or some aftermarket ones, and a better intake/ported intake and a good tune.
