`hi,
I just bought a 90 mustang lx 2.3 L , I am gonna completely redo this car. But i am really confused about alot of things. I know that i am going to put a sb302, but i was looking in jegs for blocks. Do go with a used 302, or a standard 302, or a sportsman 302 ( HD ) ? Fuel Injection or carb? What kind of crank? Steel or ALum? Do i change the whole comp or just the chip? I know i am getting hte gt 5.0 front end and real end + side ground effect. I know the suspension i s getting changed to deal with the heavy block. Any kits availble? Rear end is going from 7.5 to 8.8 or 9.0.. Which is better? WHat kind of gears are avail? 411 ? Is higher better? or Lower Better? SHould i go with a 4 sd or auto trans? I wanna kill this mitsubshi elclips! DO i want NOS or supercharger?

any imput helpful. WHat do i need to do to change this over to a 5.0.. complete body and engine?

9 in rear ends are stronger. as for the crank I would go forged steel, kinda expensive but really strong and durable. I would deffinetly choose the supercharger over the NOS kit, Cause the super charger would be helping and greatly improving power just about all the time, not just for a minute or whatevr with the NOS, and you don't have to go and get it filled either....lol.... If you go with a used 302 it will most likely be cheaper but might need to be cleaned up and re-bored and or honed, I don't know to much about the normal 302 block, but I have heard that the sportsman block is a good block up to about 450 hp. Like that's what the block can handle, so if it is going to be less than that then that one would be fine...... I like my auto trans in mine, it can be a really fast shifting trans with a shift kit and high stall converter, it is your choice of preference. If you like the feel of a stick then get a stick, same thing for Auto. Hope maybe i helped somehow

ford 9 inch rear end, 4.11 gears would be best... auto or manual, you pick if an auto u need to put in a shift it, and as the block and stuff, rebuild a cast iron block, forged steel crank/rods, pistons.... and as the super charger/n2o both would be nice :) but n20 will wear your engine faster(but not that faster), and you'll need to get it set up (4bolt mains, ect ect)
