I was just wondering what you thought of the saying..."love at first sight"...do you think this is possible?
Personally, I don't know if i belevie in love in first sight....it sounds to good to be true and how good can it really be if you are just causally looking around and then bam!!! you have just laid your eyes on your one and only true love....(that brings up the ? of a one true love...do you belevie in that too)....so many questions....anyways, ya...if love in first sight was a real thing then there woiuld be all these people being hit over the head as they were walking down the street when they just saw a glimps of their life partner....or something to that extent...i don't know, it leaves to many things to wonder about....i mean for petes sake the other person could be a serial killer or something....(in an extrem case)...so ya i was just wondering what everyone else thought of this saying...... :flash:

I don’t know if I’d call it “love at first sight”, but I came pretty close when I met my husband. I was working in a hospital in Sydney and he was on his elective and when he came walking into the Administration office, I can tell you my heart skipped a beat. I found out later that he felt the same way and after a few weeks of torture, I decided to get up the nerve to ask him out. At the same time he was trying to think of a way to ask me out as well. So call it whatever you want, but I definitely believe in at least “attraction at first sight”. :D

I don't think you can fall in love at first site, because to be in love with someone, you have to know them, and know their personality. Otherwise, like FTO said, it's just attraction at first sight.

To fall in love with their looks at first sight is very possible ;) (I should know...its happened all too much :() Of course afterwards I get to know them, then decide if I still "love" them. :)

Well that's what I mean. You can be attracted (really attracted) to the person first. But to really fall in love, I believe you have to get to know them first.

Exactly. I got to know someone really well, who I thought I loved. After I got to know him, I realized I didnt really care about him the way I thought I did.

But what if it happens the other way around? What is your take on that?

What? you mean if you get to know the person first, before you saw them? If you mean that, then I belive that can happen. Although looks is a factor in falling in love with a person, I think their personality is more important.

I agree with the ^. I think 95% of the time it should be "Crush at first sight." Time will tell whether it becomes love at first sight or if it'll pass.

I dont believe in love at first sight or any of that stuff. :bloated:
I believe in luck, and the "luck" of falling in love with someone and when they having the same feelings for you.
Luck is the only thing that makes sense in my experiances.
Infact, disregard this post. I guess i really dont understand what love is, i dont get it :bloated: and I dont mean a dictionary definition.

The first time I met my wife, I was hooked. Asked her to marry me 6 weeks later and she was crazy enough to take me up on it.
That was in 1959 and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Not sure about her thoughts on that. Whirlwind romances don't last, I guess.

I agree with that for love at first sight to work U'd need plenty of luck for it.......cause the initial attarction might be looks etc....but then it is down to luck wether the rest works......

Yes. I believe in it. Even if it's love at first sight that took 2 years to establish.

I don't believe in love at first sight; too many people confuse it with lust at first sight.
I think it's impossible to just know that they are your true love without getting to know them. Maybe you find out they torture lil animals in their spare time, or they're a psycho-bitch rom hell who's known to have done severe bodily damage to past boyfriends.
However, I'm believe in true love. I guess I'm just a sucker love like that. (Watch too many romantic comedies)

Okay, I've done a ton of thinking after my most recent break-up... The following is what I've concluded:
True love exists, but maybe we have more than one true love... (atleast I hope so, because I lost my chance with someone I honestly believed to be mine...)
Love at first sight: This is much tougher... I met the aforementioned ex b/f online and on the telephone (long story). We spoke for 9 months and both of us fell in love with the other. When the time came for us to meet, it was this incredible rush! I knew exactly who he was in an instant... Just like I had pictured only better. Basically, the meeting affirmed the love I'd developed for his personality, and even though "we" didn't last forever, we will be nothing less than best of friends.

Yes, it can happen. It happened to me my sophomore year in college. I eventually screwed it up because I was young and stupid (ask me when I have more time, and I'll explain), and have regretted it ever since. Still to this day, I wonder what could have been, and only have myself to blame...:(

Lust at first site is very possible, but very seldom will this be love.
Just my opinion and im sure alot of people here wont agree with it but the nicer looking a chick looks the more they think of themselves, which can be very worrying. Might be different in other places but most of the hottest chicks I knowq are skanks, Ive been there and I just cant love one.

Attraction at first sight, yes. Love at first sight, no.
