Ford Taurus Transaxle

Hi
The AXOD-E Transaxle in my 1992 Ford Taurus failed. It has a 3.8 ltr V-6. I had a wrecked 1992 Ford Taurus with a low mileage 3.0 ltr V-6. I changed the transaxles.
Now I am having shift problems. I used the speed censer and neutral switch from the 3.8 on the 3.0 transaxle rather than change the plugs which were different. All other electrical plugs were the same.
I am accelerating to 40 MPH and the trans downshifts and at 30 MPH it upshifts again.
Has anyone ever changed a 3.8 ltr transaxle for one out of a 3.0 ltr? If so, what problems did you have?\
The 3.0 trans was working perfectly when the car was wrecked.
Thanks for the help.

ive done two change overs. and have had the same problem, but the two top plugs were different from a 3.0 than a 3.8. maybe it's one of fords greater computer engineering ideas. good luck
