i mean yea thats common knowledge but...like i notice i have to press on the gas more as i release the clutch..anybody expreinced this?...like the car shakes then it grabs into gear but when i turn the a/c off its normal..the only remedy is pressing the gas a little more

That's just part of the A/C stealing power.

I've never heard of the A/C stealing that much power.

back when i owned a civic:crying: i could have the a/c running, accelerate, turn off a/c, and get the feeling that i just hit a small shot of nitrous... thats why a/c sucks! deal with the heat and enjoy the victories!

how much does the a/c actually take away if its not turned on but just there?
is it even worth taking off and sweating your ass off in the 90 degree weather?
if it not engaged i dont see how it could take more than like 3-4 horses away.
if you lose because you didn't take your air out you deserve to lose i think.

it honestly does not take up that much, but every little bit can help. i really hate the whole having to deal with 90+ degree weather, but i dont have too much choice right now, i lost my tensioner pulley bracket:frown:

The AC is heavy as hell... that is the performance loss u would be feeling when it's not on and it needs to be removed if u go for something bigger (turbo/engine). but when it is on it is a percentage loss i believe not a str8 hp loss cuz in my friends wrx ( '02 ) his car ran pretty close to mine with his AC on when i was just slightly more than stock. i think like 20% or so powerloss. take it out so u lose .2s on yer ET...just roll the windows down it's fine
