That depends on what turbo you use, and how much boost you want to run.

D16Y7 is 108hp stock... how much extra power you get from a turbo all depends on how much boost you are running. But 6-7lbs of boost should get you up around 150-160hp.

150? that would be way easy! I would shoot for more like 180 whp or so and be verry streetable, reliable, and spool super fast.

If you wanna get 180hp, you're gonna have to strengthen the block/internals. I'd say stick with 5-7psi if you want good HP increase with stock internals, that would be the cheapest way to go.

Dude, you can get 180 whp @ 6-8 Psi with a properly sized turbo and an intercooler. I know people over at www.thezcresource.com who are pushing 200-220 whp at 8 psi on stock internals. You dont even have to be that great at tuning to achieve 180 at 6-7 psi... :eek7:

Bet on spending about $2000 if you want 1. A reliable setup 2. A quick setup that will put down 180 whp 3. You need bigger injectors, an intercooler, a nice greddy turbo, a manifold and some other stuff.
Do you have a big (Big as in 2 inch+) exaust?

Yeah, you dont just 'get a turbo' ...you gotta upgrade everything around the turbo as well (exhaust, etc.)

Unless you go the junkyard route, you're lookin' at $2000 at least. But before you really go turbo, I suggest you get and read a book called Maximum Boost by Corky Bell.
