you kinda answerd your own question with the link..
itz called a sil-eighty conversion, you take a 89-94 240sx and put on the front of a jdm s-13,s-14, or s-15.
to do this you need a nes hood, lights, fenders, front bumper, and the head light clip for some of the silvia choices.
byw if you read the faq its all in there.. :bigthumb:

It's possible...Are you planning to just convert the front end to make it look like an s15? Or are you going to replace the engine with an s15 sr and do a rear conversion for the lights, bumper, trunk etc?
I must admit that the S15 looks very good from the front or the back, as do all the 240's.

you cannot convert a 89-92 240sx into a s-15 silvia, the reare pannes dont fit, itz a completly different shap, it will take lotz of fabraicaton to make the rear of a 89-94 240 look like a s-15, so much that you might as well jus import a s-15..
it makes no sense to put in a s-15 sr20det into your car if you are going to end up modifying the motor.the s-13 sr20det is just as capable if not more then the s-15.

if you had the money maybe you wouldn't care as much to spend more and make your car be different rather than just importing an s15 which I imagine would be pretty hard to do on your own and have it street legal. Motorex and most of the importers I've checked out on the web deal with skylines only or they will import silvias, but not help you make it legal. Since the S15 was never imported stateside by Nissan then it will cost a lot to make it street legal. Let alone the SR would need a lot of work to pass emissions and so much money spent that modifying a car over here might not cost more.
I know the differences in the sr engines...but he was talking conversion so maybe he wanted to use a closer-to-spec s15 engine. The cost of an s15 sr isn't that bad and if you aren't planning to mod it then you can use the 6 speed tranny without problems most likely. If you want to modify it a lot why not just use an RB25? more power stock more overall potential might make it cheaper in the long run.
I was merely asking what his plans were...no need for so much offense...btw the use of all those Z's makes people ignore what you're saying...

complete S15 conversion = :headshake
with the money you'd spend, you could import one that's legit. converting is just dumb in this case. love an S13 for what it is: an S13. if you want an S15 and are willing to put that much cash into it, buy one instead. it's quicker and easier.

Depends what year, but im guessing over 25k at least for a 1999 (I think that was the first year of the s15...though im not sure...hard to find pages with info on jspec cars that isnt in japan...). If you just wanted one stateside for track use or to use on the streets when the cops aren't around it would be pretty viable for most to import it. I'm not sure exact prices but looking at the GTR's you can see that it costs a lot to get anything legal here that wasn't brought over by a company.

I like the S13 as much as everybody else here, but I must admit that I'm quite a bit more attracted to the Signal Auto Sil80s--the ones with the S15 front conversion piloted by Drifter X and Drifter XL. They are quite simply beautiful.

Actually, American companies (VIS, etc.) are already making fiberglass copies of the S15 front end to bolt on an S13 chassis. It's not that expensive. The only expensive part I can think of would be the painting and the headlights.

$25k seems to be a little over the top for a '99 S15. S15's were never sold new here for more than $45k (roughly $26k USD) and right before they stopped production, they were sold for $39,990 ($23k USD). I've seen several '00 S15's with lowish mileage for sale for around about $15k USD. As for what conversions you'd have to do once it got there to make everything add up, I'm not too sure. But if you were leaving it as a stock RHD S15 for track use, I would expect it to cost $18k for a mid mileage one.

I think one would spend the most money trying to get the car legalized for road use here in the US, if it's even possible. Doesn't the NHTSA just ruin all our fun? : )

Lol. Why do that, when you can live in New Zealand and drive one every day, hassle free?

Not enough roads and you can't show off your badass car in front of your friends...mailing a postcards seems like you're trying to show off. You just want to drive to their house in the s15 you got and didn't tell them about and have them freak out  when they see a car that doesn't belong in America :iceslolan

and fitting the body kit. The VIS copies are poorly made. Consider these as copies of copies and they come out horrible, lines don't match up. I've seen it first hand, and that's why most shops suggest to used the JDM stuff. Not cuz it's bling bling, but it is a quality fit, that would just allow you to install and paint.

This one isn't amarican, but it gives an idea of what's involved:
