Rear Wiper

The rear wiper on my Xterra only wipes intermittently. When I go to use the washer fluid it doesn't wipe at all, I have to switch back and forth to get any cleaning done on my back window. Is this normal? I don't believe it is and if it's not any suggestions on how to fix it?

It's supposed to be intermittent, but when you press up on the switch to squirt fluid it should sweep a couple of times in a row before stopping. I find I have to hold the switch down (up) for a few seconds before the fluid starts to squirt. If it's not sweeping while you are squirting then you most likely have a bad switch.
