ok a friend of mine has a 94 s-10 two wheel drive with a 4-cylinder 5-speed, all stock. we are looking for a wrecked s-10 or blazer with a 4.3 to swap in but he wants to leave the five speed in it. my question is will the 4.3 bolt up to the stock 4 cylinder tranny or will it need a different bellhousing? thanks for any input.

I'm almost positive that i needs a diffrent bellhousing. Not 100% but like 96%. Is the bellhousing detatchable on the 2.2's? I kow my 2.5 4 speen isnt, otherwise i know some S-10's in the early 90's came with 5 speeds behinde 4.3s.

i'm not sure if its detachable or not i'll look tomorrow night when i go to work(we work together)..the only s-10 i've worked on was a 2.8 engine swap in a 91 5-speed and it had a two piece tranny
