Wipers won't turn off!?

THe winshield wipers on my '98 civic won't turn off. They will go to the High and normal settings but the intermitent and off settings don't work. I had to remove the fuse to stop them, obviously this is pretty inconvient <sp>.
Anybody got ideas?

Dont take this as an insult, but this duh has caused problems before. Has the washer lever busted? Ya know how if you pull back on the arm, the washers spary and the wipers start going. very often the spring, or the lil lever in there will break or come apart, and the whole switch arm just being a lil outa place will make your wipers act all crazy. put the fuse back in, turn the swith to off, then move the arm around a little bit (gently) and see if that stops it at all. if so, may be it. if not, time to start checkin relays.
