98 Ford Escort

I have a remote for a 98 escort that doesn't work, i replaced the battery and it still doesn't work, got any ideas?

sometimes you have to hold down both lock/unlock buttons together while near the car to reset the unit. it'll be reset when the lock solenoid engages inside the door while holding down those two keys.

That's where I found instructions to reprogram the remote for my 97 Escort. This page has instructions for reprogramming 97-98 Escort as well as some other Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles.
