Hey, I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to change the serpentine belt on my friend's 94 Honda Accord.
It's not really a serpentine belt -- it's two belts: power steering belt (?) and AC belt (?). We've got both belts and an ass-load of tools, but we don't want to start messing with it and not be able to get it back together. -- mostly we can't find a de-tensioner to loosen the belt, and we're reluctant to just unscrew the topmost cog. Any help is appreciated.

first disconnect your battery and wait 10 minutes or so...and be sure to unhook the alternator power in the correct manner so you don't hurt the voltage regulator.
Um...on the water pump/ power steering pulley you need to look on the left underside(if looking from the front of the car) and you will see a bolt that is on a parenthesis like sliding pivot. If you loosen that a tad you should be able to slide it along the parenthesis pivot. That will allow you to take off the belt closest to the fender...you need to take this one off before you can change the alt and A/C belt...
Next you will find a belt tensioner for the Alternator. Now face the direct front of your car and look at the alternator. If you look a little below the alt you will see a bolt that is extremely long and runs through a plate...this is the tensioner. If you loosen it enough you should be able to slip the new belt on without messing with the A/C compressor and pulley.
Take note of how much give the belt has. I don't have the right tools but just pinch the two belt sides in the very center and measure it at across the center...when you put the new belt on try and get it as close to that as possible.

Belt deflection : press in the center of the belt between the 2 pulleys
New belt - 7-9mm
used/worn belt - 9-11mm
