I have a question about the OBDII in the R34. I was told by someone at RB motoring that MOTOREX could not break the code and they are not EPA legal. Is this true?

I know someone who has! Go to the Skylines Downunder Forums (http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/) and look for a user named Canman. He could help. Heck he turned his center screen into a DVD player, and video gamming as well. He is brillant. He's done what others said cant be done.

Point 1. Think about that for a moment. An agency APPROVED by the U.S. govt for legalizing the R32-R34 is not capable of making all required changes.....I don`t think so.

Point 2. Motorex doesn`t even DO the emissions work......it`s subcontracted to a company dedicated to emissions. They legalize hundreds of cars besides the GTR including import Ferrari`s, Lambo`s, Porsche etc.

A lot of these questions could be avoided if people would simply sit down and THINK about it for a moment.

I was told by a person named DJ who sells R32 and R33s here in the US that the OBDII system requirements were upgraded making all R34s not in the states unable to meet US conformance laws. I was also told by Sean @ RB Motoring http://www.rbmotoring.com/ that the EPA work that was done on the R34 by JK Tech for MOTOREX must be renewed periodically and MOTOREX has not done this at some point making the process of US R34 compliance more difficult. I was also told that MOTOREX is working on the problem and should have the compliance info soon.

and, since i've not been here for a while, do you work at RB or at motorex?

if you do, then ok.

if you don't, why should we believe the one line you posted in this thread?

No, I do not work at Motorex. However, I've talked with the guys at Motorex extensively because I'm in the market to buy an R-34. Yes, to actually BUY a Skyline. Not sit around and bitch about how Motorex is ripping us off, or how I could get one in for a 1/3 of the cost. Or posting on forums what I would do if I had a GT-R. No, I am trying to buy one. Have been for a while, actually. So I've done some research, and talked quite extensively with Motorex. And what 4legalskylines posted is exactly what I was told by the guys at Motorex. Last time I checked, they're the definite authorities to speak with on matters such as these.

There's so much stupidity, lies, and falsehoods posted on importing GT-R's, that I posted to help support a statement that I understand to be true on a very important issue to me. Thus trying to help this cause of understanding regarding the importation of Skylines.

So THAT'S why I've posted. Your post, and the one by omegasky, on the other hand, contributes nothing to this discussion. It's post whoring that only adds more confusion to anybody trying to sort through the nightmarish tangle of falsehoods and bureaucracy while trying to get information on how to own a Skyline GT-R in America. If you doubt me so much, (which you seem to do) then give Motorex a call. Ask them about it.

So, unless you can contribute an intelligent counterargument, then kindly keep your posts to yourself. Or at least limited to threads like "What culor did teh r-33 look gud n?" :nono:

good thing i'm not involved in this. :chair:
tuxedo, umm what model/trim you planning on getting for the r34? ah if everyone's post would be mainly concentrating on tech stuff we would probably communicate better, but some guy's here talk so much :bs: about getting a gtr we don't know who to believe, you can understand, lol, this is why i moved, too much confict in the u.s. :headshake
i'm not making an assumption about you in any way, it's just that saying that you've "talked with the guys at Motorex extensively for a skyline", isn't enough to prove yourself lol.
o i tink te r33 luk gud in black, nt to be racist. :smokin:

White 2002 R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nur. 12,000 miles on it. THAT'S the one I'm getting. You may have seen it at some of the events in the San Diego or LA area. It was at the Santa Monica pier gathering recently. It has red Bride seats in it. The owner has decided to sell, so when they get the OBDII problem sorted, then it'll be mine. Happy?

Look, I was just trying to back up 4legalskylines with the statement he posted earlier, and ended up taking $#!+ for it. If you have a problem with me, or don't think I'm legit, pm me. Otherwise,....chill! Because I still haven't seen a legal Omega imported Skyline on the road yet....

Didn't see one of the very few R-34's in the country, then? One that's been in Road and Track, no less? A V-Spec II Nur, even? Huh, guess you don't follow the scene too much in America then, do ya?

Hell, you live in Geramany. How the $%!@ can you keep up with what's going on regarding Skyline legalization here in America when you live way the hell over in Europe? Hell, if you're so up on this, then answer the thread's question: what's up with the OBDII on the R34's that's keeping them from getting legalized? Why can't I legally drive an R34 right now? You know so much, please inform us.

Well, thank you for taking the time to respond with such a smart reply, but....ohhh! You still didn't answer the question, did you? What's wrong with the R34's being imported into America?

And you know, I might respect you for having worked for O-meg-a Skylines, IF they had managed to put one single legal car on the road. They haven't; you haven't told me what's wrong with the OBDII; so.....you lose.
