Interesting reading on F-1live.com (http://f1.racing-live.com/en/)
Webber to replace Montoya at Williams and Montoya to McLaren, while DC would take the spot at Jaguar.
Taken from F1-live.com
Another development in the story about Montoya's possible move to McLaren. According to the Daily Telegraph Juan-Pablo Montoya will go to McLaren as early as next season. David Coulthard would become the victim of this transfer and end up at Jaguar while Mark Webber would simply (!) replace Montoya at Williams.
I would love to see JPM come to McLaren. :bigthumb:

Silly season is gathering strength! :)
Of those 3 drivers, only 1 doesn't have a contract for next year (DC). Then again, contracts in F1 mean oh so much.
I will believe the rumours only after official announcements.

But hey GO JAG!!

JPM going to Mclaren? I would luv to see that happening too.
Always good to see some changes and even so when your fav driver is taking on something different.
I posted earlier that the Mclaren is my 2nd choice and JPM driving in that livery would be nice but that also would split my mind into 2, Williams and Mclaren....wooops

Can't see Sir Frank leting Montoya go without a fight. Jaun Pablo seems more like a Williams driver than a McLaren one to me. Either way he'll be at the sharp end, hopefully next year will see McLAren and Williams usurp Ferrari as the cars to have.
After his performances on the last few races Coulthard would be lucky to get a Jag drive. Webber would be a better fit at McLaren I think, but would Ron want someone more experienced alongside Kimi?

COulthard isn't doing himself any favours, is he? Let's wat for tomorrow, when it really counts, and see what he can do, but his qualifying perforemance today was, well, for the lack of a better word, "unacceptable" :)

If Coulthard's performance today was "unacceptable", then you'd have to call a certain Schumacher brother's effort at least half "unacceptable" too.

Nah, that was Bridgestone ;)
And I didn't call his performance unacceptable, I used the word Ron Dennis used to describe DC's qualifying at some race this year (was it Spain?), just a harmless dig at DC, RD, and McLaren at the same time :D That's why I put it into quotation marks. But DC was indeed slow today, and, as I've said, he isn't doing himslef any favours.

I'd like to come back to this point though. I actually would agree with you on MS's performance today, but this thread isn't about MS, while it does have a lot to do with DC. I also wasn't impressed by Button today, but saw no reason to bring it up.

I got the "unacceptable" reference Alex
Did Rubens get the good Bridgestones today?
My little quip was reminding you that whilst Coulthard was bested by his team mate to the tune of 8 tenths today, Schumacher was also 4 tenths slower than his. Tyres are irrelevant in that analysis, there are hidden reasons for everything. But if Schumacher keeps that type of performance up...
Somehow I don't think the little elf will be publicly chastising his chosen one in quite the same fashion Ron Dennis does with DC!

Okay Alex I will spell it out very clearly, I have obviously been too broad up to this point.
You said Coulthard wasn't doing himself any favours. I pointed out that Schumacher was behind Barichello in qualifying too. Does that mean Schumacher should be out of a seat next year? I was trying to illustrate the point that a lot more is going on than we know about. Maybe Ron Dennis is happy with Coulthard's performace because he knows of some difficulty David is operating under. Therfore he will be back at McLaren next year. Maybe this one (several in DC's case) poor performance means both he and Schumacher are over the hill?
Plus as a McLaren fan I can bash DC, but when Ferrari fans do it I will defend him, or bash their guy! Fair enough?

Phil, I wasn't bashing DC, in fact I think I've been quite mild on him (read the first post I made in this thread today again). Still it's beyond me why anyone will be defending DC's performance today, or at several races before today. Today is better though as e was actually using a spare car.

Why? :dunno: (I'll remove the saintly expression off my face in a minute;))

Okay may as well keep this rubbish up for a little longer. Who knows we might make it to 17 consecutive posts born out of a single typo!
I find the fact you counted the 17 offending post a bit of a worry to begin with.
I dont know which is more OT; discussing F1 team orders in an F1 race thread or discussing typing in a driver silly season thread... :eek7:
I'm a participant in both so Alex will probably be sending the boys round
Maybe we need a pole?:cwm27:

Poles can be found in Poland (among othe places), then Sergei Bubka must have a pole or two, and also JPM got one today to add to his collection. So which one was it, Phil? ;)

Yes, getting back to the topic, last week everyone categorically denied everything. DC, Norbert, Montoya's manager (after JPM started the rumour in the first place), just everyone involved. Then again, Jaguar, at first were this close to dumping Pizzonia (never confirmed anything), then categorically denied this and assured Antonio and the fans that his seat is safe till the end of the season. Well, maybe his seat indeed is safely stored somewhere at the Jag factory ;)
