I just bought my son a 88 prelude in April. It intermittantly wont start. Acts like it's flooding, but with the fuel injection I understand this isn't the problem. Just had the fuel injection looked at and they said ground wire was bad and fixed. Still happening though. If you let it sit for awhile it eventually starts. Thanx

I'm still working on a problem like this with an '87 prelude. It has been hard to diagnose because of all of the electronics that may be involved. Next time it doesn't start, check for these.
Does it have a spark? If not, could be a bad chip in the distributor.
Can you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key? If not, could be the pump or the main fuel relay.
If it only does this when it is hot outside (and therefore really hot in the passenger compartment), it is probably the fuel relay.
The biggest problem seems to be that unless checked while it won't start, all of these parts can test out just fine.
Don't know if this will help, but may give you a place to start.
(have also been told to check the igniter.)

Just another suggestion, do a search of this site for 'main and relay'. Lots of people have had this problem or something similar. Will give you lots of ideas
