tell me why

can somebody tell me why I hear people about people droppin b16a and b16a2 and b18a and b18b and b18c in their cars but I never hear anybody say the dropped a Type R engine in their car why is this are the not good Mod engines or something

What kind of Type R? Civic, Integra...?

b18c5 is an integra type r
b16b is a civic type r, and I have one.
They're not bad engines to mod, but all you can and should really do is add the basic bolt ons, and a few internal things like a valve adjustment and port/polish... It already has 185hp stock, pumped out from a measily 1.6 liters of displacement. It's hard to improve on that, and turbocharging one wouldn't be worth it unless you have a ton of money because of the stock high compression. Shoving more air into an already high compression engine is setting yourself up for failure if you don't know what you're doing. All I plan on doing with my ctr engine is a 5 angle valve job, a V-AFC, and maybe some cam gears... It doesn't really need anything else.

There are alot of Type R swaps out there. I guess just not here.

Pretty sweet... I've always kinda liked those bumpers. I would have bought an itr engine if they weren't so damn expensive. On inlinefour.com mine was $4k, and the itr was $5.9k... I can live with 10 less hp and 15(?) less ft lbs of tq for the $1900 difference.
