I love it, I have like 500+ techno songs on my comp :D

I listed a shitload of techno/dance/euro/trance/house/freestyle/etc. songs in a thread a while back, I'm gonna go look for it and paste the list here. It's most certainly not a complete listing of all that's good or even all I have, but it's a start.

Well, I don't usually consider that good "starter" techno ;)

Starter? - what could be better to start off with?

I dunno, most people just start with the "mainstream" stuff and work their way into the "acquired taste" stuff :)

Amish_kid

Jfk or Cirrus considered mainstream?

Humor of the technoites, it's almost the same, I tried pointing out that they were different and dance was too, but I could figure out the differences myself

I listen to the Vocal Trance station just about all day long while I'm at work. They play good stuff on all the trance stations and new common stuff. You can always click on the Recent play history and get the names of the songs and stuff...

Techno helps me sleep.techno, and yah, Trance, Ambient, Gabba etc, ALL techno, Techno really is the big collective family off maybe hundreds of different sub genres etc. I have been known, when Im in a good mood, to CRANK something like my Hard NRG CD tofall asleep to. It just lets me unwind. And one of my fave songs? 666 "Nightmare." Damn I love that.

Ditto :bigthumb: . Try: BT, DJ Tiesto, RTC, Statix X, the Prodigy. Kinda more on the trance side, but awesome none the less.I'm a bit late to this thread, but I also am a techno fan. Don't listen to it all that much, as I listen mostly to metal and I guess what would today be termed mainstream rock, but I do appreciate good trance/techno.

Interesting that Static-X was mentioned above as techno. I think of it as metal, but I guess it can certainly be classified as techno as well. I have a friend that is not a metal head, and yet she is Static fan. In either case, Static is one of my favorite bands - they're awesome.
