i was comming home today, and for no reason, everybody on the road just started slowing down, all three lanes were going like 15mph, and i was feeling lazy so i just put it in second and let off the gas. after about ten minutes, all i can see is smoke, the median divider thing had caught on fire, usually WA weather isn't like this, i can't remember the last time it rained, damn, but anyways my question is
is it ok to leave it in second, w/o using gas or clutch? or does it really mess up my car?

As long as your car doesn't go dead...or your rpm's don't get too high, leaving it in gear at a steady speed should be easier on your clutch and trans. than continuously taking it in and out of gear would be. Not to mention easier on your gas mileage.

I can't say for certian...but I'm thinking more like 17...possibly even 18. I guess the easiest way to find out is to run it down to E then stop and see how much you can force in there. Then add 1~2 gallons to that to make up for what's still in the tank. You'd have to get it pretty low though...definately wait until the light comes on. Just don't run out:smile:
