Or do like I am doing right now for my Prelude... pay $150 for them to make the car pass. Then figure it out later. I am tired of trying to pass emissions so I got a guy to hook mine for the past two years. I got a new cat and changed the 02 sensor and it still keeps failing. I also have a TPS code that I am pulling so I don't know why I keep failing. It could be more to it than what the code reads. When you get codes, it is guiding into the area of the problem not saying for sure that's the problem.

hahahaha ... dont listen to the guy about the stock muffler ... omg that is soo lame.
The o2 sensor is probably it, because without one or a messed up one your car will run rich.
and now its story time boys and girls :thefinger
When I first got my car (no mods other than the sohc zc) it passed emissions, but was like .001 away from the max reading on one of the gasses i have no idea what.
On july 25, my car went in for smog again (2 yrs later) I took my short ram intake off cause it wouldnt pass the visual inspection (no carb id) but my muffler and high flow cat were still on it.
Car passed with flying colors, and all readings were in the average range.
Personally I say instead of spending money trying to get your d15b2 to pass, find a low mileage d16z6 and swap that bitch in there ... i would have done this if my car did not pass.

My car didn't pass I had to pay to get the conditional pass for a year or whatever it is. It has to pass next time, or else. :(
I was told of a guy who couldn't get his truck to pass, so he put new O2s in it and just rigged up an exhaust with 3 cat's and it burned super clean?! It might work!? I don't really know enough about emissions, but it seem to make sense to me.

Only have to have it on for the day of the testing right? :icon16:
Here in the middle of nowhere in Texas, we don't have emissions testing yet. :bigthumb:
Although year by year the counties that require testing move farther south.... the county just to the north of us recently passed emissions requirements... so I figure by this time next year, we'll be screwed here too.

ok about the O2 sensors. Did you pull your ECU fuse after you put in the new sensor. I had a prelude that the check engine light was still coming on after I installed 2 new sensors. I pulled the fuse and reset the computer and it never came back on.
Someone told me that if you pull the ECU fuse and leave it out for like 30 to 45 secs. It will restet the computer from the bad O2 sensor to how it needs to be running with the new sensor.
I hope this helps. My 2 cents.

yea i did reset the ECU Before i put the new O2 sensor in, had the battery disconnected and that resets the ECU as well, put the new one in, drove it, passed the driving part of the e-test, then like 6 days later, the check engine light came on :frown:
